Hi Reza I will try to be brief and help you answer my questions...

1) What is the recommended aileron throw for QQ 85'' for smooth and slow rolling harriers? Unfortunatelly I can get up to 35'' in one wing, on the other one I let the aileron a bit out of the trailing edge so I can ger more and let the surface move more freely.

2) Have you used a SmartFly Super Regulator with this plane? The fact I have to install everyithing in the nose with the DA 50 makes the whole setup a bit trivial requiring long cables for the batteries, Rx etc. I plan to install the regulator beneath the tank or in front of the tank. Please send any photos if you have some.

3) Do I have to install the rectangular piece of ply provided behind the engine box? What is the purpose of that really? May be to isolate the fuselage from the the gas and oil coming from the exhaust system?

4) How do you install your switches on this plane? Foam in some areas is quite thick. I need one switch for the Rx, one for the ignition and two charching jacks for the batteries which have to be installed in the front areas fo the fuz.

5) I plan to install my LiIon packs on the lower horizontal parts (vertical to the firewall) of the engine box. Is that a common practice? Can engine vibration cause any issues there?

Please send if you have any relevant pictures.

Thanks,

Nikos

Hi Reza I will try to be brief and help you answer my questions...

1) What is the recommended aileron throw for QQ 85'' for smooth and slow rolling harriers? Unfortunatelly I can get up to 35'' in one wing, on the other one I let the aileron a bit out of the trailing edge so I can ger more and let the surface move more freely. This really depends on your throttle management. I'd say 35-40 degrees! More throw, gets more sensitive in roll rate with high throttle.

2) Have you used a SmartFly Super Regulator with this plane? NO.The fact I have to install everyithing in the nose with the DA 50 makes the whole setup a bit trivial requiring long cables for the batteries, Rx etc. I plan to install the regulator beneath the tank or in front of the tank. Please send any photos if you have some.

3) Do I have to install the rectangular piece of ply provided behind the engine box? YESWhat is the purpose of that really? May be to isolate the fuselage from the the gas and oil coming from the exhaust system? Yes and keeps the air from rushing through your fuse.

4) How do you install your switches on this plane? Foam in some areas is quite thick. I need one switch for the Rx, one for the ignition and two charching jacks for the batteries which have to be installed in the front areas fo the fuz. Remove the foam. See manual on this. Look up the 102" manual to see more pics for the switches.

5) I plan to install my LiIon packs on the lower horizontal parts (vertical to the firewall) of the engine box. Is that a common practice? Can engine vibration cause any issues there? If you mount them correctly, you should be fine!

Please send if you have any relevant pictures. Please take a look at the 102" manual to get more help on some of the questions such as switch mounting,... if the 85" is not that clear.

Thanks,

Nikos

Hi Reza,

Please comment on my configuration if possible. Do you believe the plane will balance ok as everything is moved as front as possible? This is how I wll mount the tanks also...

Waiting for your comments for my setup.

Thanks in advance,

Nikos

Also this is my setup in block diagram form.

For the switches slots I used a hot soldering tool and the opening was effortless.

Looking forward to your comments.
