Lay some paper on your building board and draw it out. Trace the root ribs. Make a hybrid style fuse because of the fuse taper. Easy to do, just time consuming.

I been thing about taking a OMP Hybrid kit and modifying it to look like the Yak or something like the Mojo. Wouldn't be hard to double taper the wings and then all that will be needed is to modify the fuse and stab and rudder.

Thanks guys. Beef, my Dad just dropped the engine off. I'll get some pics later. I have to get a part for my ZDZ. Check the thread in the gas forum.

I did put the hub back on yesterday. Mike Dooley said to use a strap wrench and a longer bolt. I picked up a two wrench set at Sears. It was even on sale! You have to put the strap around the hub and then tighten the bolt down to draw the hub onto the crank.

What plans? The only plans that were used was when doing the fuse. I used my old Ultimate's fuse plan to trace a rough outline and then modified it from there. Wish I would have made the nose longer.

We did the maiden a week ago last Saturday. It was about a three hour thrash to get it air worthy. We had a flood in the basement and some of that stuff is in the garage making it more cluttered than what it usually is. Because of that, I had to work on it outside on the picnic table. I test ran the plane before with the cowl mufflers and had no glitches. I decided to put the pipes on and picked up close to 600 RPM over the cowl mufflers. I made some mounts out of aluminum and some how was getting glitches. Beef came over and we decided on making a plywood mount. That's what I did and the glitching was gone.
So anyway, time for the maiden. We fired it up and did a couple of range checks and all was good. I taxied it straight out of the pits, wiped the sweat off the brow, and then just nailed it to full throttle. Flys really nice. She's on the nose heavy side though. I put them heavy wheels on for the test flights just to make sure it wasn't tail heavy. I'll pull them off and put on a lighter set. Maybe I'll be able to put the engine back where I had it. No problem at all with the long stadoffs. I flew two flights and on the second is where I had a problem. Some of the covering blew off of the right stab. I knew that I should have tightened up the covering, but I was running out of time before the sun set. I'm going to try to get it up again this weekend. Maybe Jerkey can get some video.

Took it out Saturday wes. Second flight lost the left wheel. Brought it in slowly and had Jerkey kill it right before it touched down. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous. Praise the Lord there was not too much damage. It knocked the landing gear block back. Looks like an easy fix. I'm going to take and move the engine back to where it was. It's nose heavy so I'm going to remove the extra lengths of standoffs. Looks like crap the way it is. Plane flys great. It's a real floater. Hardly any coupling. Needs a little down elevator on knife edge. I'll wait for the CG change to pass judgment on that one though. Aileron is so minimal that it doesn't need a mix at all. Knife edge is great with the two 8611's back there. Going to add another to the Ultimate over winter. Speaking of the Ultimate, I picked up a used ZDZ 160 for it. Needs the exhaust bolt holes fixed on one cylinder, but was recently rebuilt and I got it for a good price. Also picked up the headers and cans in another auction cheap.

Went to work on the landing gear mount yesterday. I cut out the area around the landing gear. I laminated 3 pieces of 3/4" plywood together and cut it to fit. I Pro Bonded it in along with some more 1/8" ply along the bottom sides of the fuse. That will keep it from twisting out side to side. I also swapped out the two, four cell LiIon packs for one four cell A123 pack. I still kept the 2300 LiIon on the ignition. I'll switch it over to A123's later on. I bought five, four cell packs, so I'll have to split one up. Been a bad day today. Computer crashed and I lost most of my newer pics and videos.

Thanks very much for all the answers I got concerning foam sheeted wings using polyurathane glue. Now can anyone tell me where i can find some suitable plastic bags like the ones mrbigg used in the pictures. I want to fill them with sand to weight down my wings. The "shucks" that come with the wings were missing the top part, only the bottom part was with the kit.

I just used regular Ziploc bags from the store. Nothing fancy. Them missing shucks might be a problem with the poly glue. You might not be able to get even weight on the core because you won't have a flat surface. If it's not even, you will get a warp, especially on the trailing edge.
If I was in your situation, I think that I'd just use Tite bond ll Premium Wood Glue (blue label). I used it on the leading and trailing edges and the capstripping around the fuse. It works very good and doesn't require alot of weight because it doesn't foam. It tacks up pretty quick. I actually just picked up a new bottle at ACE a couple of days ago. A 4oz bottle was $3.99 or a 160z was $5.99-no brainer there.
