Sounds about right for 26-36cc gas power, depending on final weight. I am not a fan of big glow engines because they get so expensive to feed, but some people like them a lot.

Mark

What Mark posted earlier is right on. I'll go check some engines out.

here's a link to Brillelli. http://www.scottellingson.com/brillelli_engines_002.htm

I'm leaning towards the 46 myself. It's only 6 oz. heavier and you have alot of wing area so it shouldn't hurt too much. 10 bucks more over the 36 and you'll be able to use the 46 in more airframes down the road. What do the rest of you guys think?

I agree, no one has ever had too much power. If the weight is no issue the 46 is the better choice.

5.6lbs for everything. On a digital bathroom scale at .2lb increments. I weighed myself then held all the pieces That includes landing gear, wheels, tailwheel assembly. The wings are about half sheeted and the leading edge on both wings need to be carved down and shaped yet . also the fuse is only about 20% sheeted. No servos , batteries or fueltank..

Glued the wing tubes in. Still drying on the bench. The top side of the wing is down. I used Ultimate Poly. I was getting low and it was getting hard to squeeze the glue out. I seen the clamp laying there and put it to use!

I use Li-Ions from Fromeco. Need regulators with them. Maybe NiMh would be the most cost effective. I'd run 6 volts though. What's everyone else using on planes the size of beef's?

I took the wings off the bench. Everything went good. Laying out the ailerons. They will be 6.5" at the root, from the trailing edge and 4.5" at the tip, from the trailing edge. The ailerons are 52" long. Still trying to decide whether to use 1 or 2 servos with it being that long. My Ultimates ailerons are 42" long and each have a single JR 8611 and I have not had any problems with flutter. Help me decide- 1 or2 servos?
