Here is the review of the Cell Spy voltage monitor

Product link: http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1973

The Cell Spy makes checking the voltage of your lipo packs easier than ever.
It provides a digital read-out that can show up to 3 cell voltages in rotation.

Specs:

NÂș of cells: 2-3 (can be used for more cells, just move the checker up the balance plug so that pin 1 on the checker is plugged into port 4 on the balance plug)
Voltage: 0-15V
Accuracy: 0.01V
Price: $12.95

This unit allows you to read back the individual voltages of the cells in a Lipo pack. It has 2.5mm pin spacing used by almost all Lipo manufacturers on the market, but if your battery has 2mm spacing like Thunder Power you will need and adapter to convert the spacing to 2.5mm

To use the Cell Spy just plug it into the balance connector of the battery pack being sure to connect the negative port on the balance connector to the negative pin of the Cell Spy.

You should allow 6 seconds for the voltage reading to stabilize when the pack is connected.

The dot in the bottom of the display indicates which cell is being read, starting from cell, then cell 2 and finally cell3. The accuracy of this device is 0.01V.

This is a very handy tool when you forget about the charge status of a battery pack, you just connect the checker to the battery and you can know right away not only whether the battery is charged or not, but if all the cells are balanced accordingly.

In case of using a balancer for charging the Lipo packs, it can also be used to verify that the balancer is working appropriately after the charging process ends by plugging the checker and comparing the voltage of each cell.

It also prevents shortening the battery when using the metal leads from a regular electronic voltmeter causing most of the times the battery to get puffed.
