Thanks for the replies Its my second YS - rather strangly my first was the FZ63 - which as you say is a just fantastic. I have it in a Kyosho CAP232 (40 version) and to say that its overpowered is an understatement! The idle is as sweet as a nut - 2000 rpm without a hint of faltering. Throttle responce is .. well just like an electric motor .. totally linear. The power output is just amazing .. I still can't get over the fact that it just delivers more power on each click of the throttle. At a vitual standstill, kick the nose up vertical and then roll the thottle open and the plane just goes balistic. I bought this one while in Florida, I was with a mate and the holiday basically was visting one model shop after another. I wasn't really in the market for another one, but we say a 63 and 53 on the shelf and I was a little slow on the take-up and ended up with the 53! - I must say I quite like the idea of liberating these engines from the USA - they are both now firmly resident in the UK. Cut a long story short .. you were dead right. I started her up last week and after 2 tanks the compression is starting to build up. The engine is now virtually ready for its first flight .. In a Hirrobo Stream 50 HiPerf. Tetra tanks are pretty difficult to source over here .. so I have put in a Kavan 8oz. I'm running mine on 20/20 Synthetic. By the way, I'm building a Seduction Freestyle and have found that the Kavan 8oz tank fits perfectly. The Ridges down the side of the tank are a perfect fit around the Seductions formers. Cheers Tony

This could just be me being stupid. I have a new YS FZ-53 which I bought this year while on holiday in Florida. I have just got round to installing it in my latest creation. Plumbed in and basically ready to go. Only trouble is there seems to be virtually no compression. I must state that I have not started it yet, but as there doesn't seem to be any compression at all - I doubt that it will start. I have checked the valves .. these seem fine. The tank is coming up to pressure when I turn it over. I guess it could be that the ring needs bedding in, but other than that I have no idea. (oh ... yes I have put a plug in it !).
