Gentlemen, I've noticed that my steering set up has some "play" on the post that does not have the spring tensioner. I pulled the whole steering set up out and noticed that the bottom of the post (as marked onthe pictures) has some ware on it. The plastic bushing that goes inserted on the bottom of the post is worn and lost some (not much) of its shape.

Is the "play" or ware normal? Should this have some lubrication or a platics/teflon washer of some kind?

You can replace the plastic bushings with 6x10x3mm bearings for smoother steering and to take up the play.

The same thing with the bushings in you center dff plate. They sometimes use the same plastic bushings for your break lever assembly where it passes through the diff plate. It can cause your breaks to lock every once and a while.

xX Ride Xx nice track!

Paradoxmaker, thanks for the tip. If I get those bearings I may have to buy a new post since mine does have some wear on it, not too much but enough to shave the post and bushing to the point where you cant tell where the bushing begins. How would you guys know if it's time to buy a new post? (considering my Ravager is new, 6-7 tanks)

hrdcoreglf, are those the same bearing that would replace the bushing on hte center diff plate?

Ok, so I see the servo saver bearing are not the same as the center diff plate bushings, but are those 6x10mm bearing used any where else on the Ravager? The set brings 10 and I see that the steerig on the Ravager uses 3.

Since I got into a head on crash at a pretty good speed and did some damage to my Ravager I bought on eBay the front diff with housing and front/lower arm holder. Since the crash the body will not fit easily in the front area and I have to push it in to get it to fit right. I thought it may have been the front diff leaning back fro the crash but it turns out that after installing everything new the body still doesn't fit right?! Nothing changed... So I wonder could the chassis have bent up wards on the front area? I do see and feel an angle but I'm not sure if that was there before the crash... If it's bent, could I try to correct it with pliers or a hammer?

Also, since I had to take apart the whole front suspension, I noticed that the arms fit very tightly and even with ought the spring the friction made it kind of tuff to move freely. After everything was installed and tightened I noticed ( like always) if I push the car down it almost wont come back up by it self, not enough strength on the springs and/or too much resistance from the arm hinges. Is that normal, and can I improve that?

...Also, I noticed the front suspension (and rear) had a lot of options to set it up. I know how it came, but is there any other way you guys think would bring better handling...?

It could have bent the chassis up hard to tell without being there.

From what you described in your second paragraph you may have a few parts bent or tweaked, the suspension arms should move free... If your saying it won't come ALL the way up, but still comes up: Then your fine.. To adjust this (ride hight) you just add more pre-load. Whats your ride hight? Compress the suspension then measure.

If you have not upgraded to the CNC chassis braces, I would suggest it. What happens is the plastic ones bend which causes the chassis to curl slightly from hard landings. This problem is easily fixed with the uprade.

Dokioto, keeping in minding most of my bashing seems to be in places that have large stones, roots and other things that come out of the ground I raised the height of the car by using a hole lower on the front and rear upper shock base. If I place the car normally on a table the back of the chassis is about 1 1/2" and the front is 1 1/8" front the table top. If I push on the car and bottom it out it recovers (not too quickly) to a height of just over 1" in the back and 1" in the front but I would have to lift the car to get it to full height since it stays as is. Even when the front suspension was built but not yet mounted on the chassis I could feel the arms were tight and had friction at the joints holding and making them tight..? Plus, I can see and feel the front springs barely tough the upper arms when the suspension is moving up and down. Any tip on all that?

Plus, can you guys share a picture of the front and rear suspension set up, there are so many places to put the pins and screws that I'd like to know or see the best option?

hrdcoreglf, I can't seem to find the braces on the CNC page? But, I get what your saying and it makes sense since I noticed that after mounting the whole from suspension and diff back on the chassis I had to use some force in order to get the small screw to go through the upper plate to the top of the plastic brace. I was forced to go under the chassis and loosen the plastic braces screws to be able to put the upper screw on the brace, tighten everything up on top and then tighten the two brace screws on the bottom. Would new harder braces straighten the chassis? Would I need to straight it my self or buy a new one?

You don't have to buy a new chassis, the CNC braces will help the problem.

P.S.

Next time you guys take off your wheels keeping the back flat on the table top can you tell me how high is the front of the chassis ? I have yet to do that but I'm sure it's higher than normal and that would explain why the body doesn't fit right..

Nice they're like bling bling for the RC

So those may "fix" my chassis bent or just keep it from getting worst?

If your chassis is bent, then it will be tough to get it on I would think. Should fix it though (unless you have other problems up front).
