I was using the MC-8 on my force .28 running 30% O'Donnell race blend. The force engine can be tough to tune, but when it is it will run great. You can't make 1/4 turn adjustments on this carb, you have to break the adjustments down to smaller movements. I picture the face of a clock around the needle and make adjustments 1 hour at a time. 52289 BEARING INSIDE 14mm .28 . 52900 B-1 BEARING, OUTSIDE, 607Z. If you cotact Boca Bearing via email, they can probably hook you up with the right bearings if you give them this info. On the settings, just start at HSN 3 1/4 turns out from closed, LSN Flush with linkage collar, Idle adj screw set so you have 1 - 1.5mm opening at full break.( This is a good time to check your EPA's if your radio system if it has that option, uneeded pressure from an over traveling servo can damage your carb.) Try not to touch the LSN until you are getting decent high speed passes. When you get the temps and performance where you want, then start adjusting LSN for radio/throttle reaction time.

Hummmm, I tried 3 plugs, an OS#8, MC-59 and an LC3, same result.

Tried tuning the engine afterwork at home, after 10 to 15 mins. while the temperature hits around 170 degrees F, it started to lean out. I am ready to point the gun and pull the trigger on this engine.

All 3 of the plugs you mention are pretty much HOT plugs...Back off to a Medium or Cold....MC-8 for 20-25% and a MC-9 for 30%..

In need of a little advise.

I bought two new HITEC servos for the Ravager the 245 and the 645MG. I'm currently using the stock Ravager horns since I figured they are set for the proper radius, but I noticed they slip on the servo. Are you gentlemen using the HITEC supplied horns? Which ones and in what whole? Any cutting?

The stock horns are futaba servo splined i believe, if your horn is slipping, by all means replace it right away with a Hitec horn.

BTW yes you can use the one that came with the servo or you can buy aftermarket ones in plastic and aluminum.

Ok, so I got the black one sided HITEC horn on the steering servo with no issues, I just had to drill the whole on the HITEC horn a little bigger to be able to use the screw on the steering rode that came with the car.

The throttle horn set up, that has been complicated. Turns out the brake adjuster uses two very small screws with very small nuts that both had glue on the thread and getting those off was a hastel since both screw heads stripped. I finally got them off and ruined the screws in the process. I'll have to use other screws since they both are stripped. Not the easiest.

It was a matter of time....

The left knuckles’ lower screw stripped. I tried putting in a screw with bigger threads but that only lasted 15 minutes before the screw fell.

I've seen threads on this same subject, since obviously the knuckles and steering servo are the weakest points on the Ravager, but I cant remember where and a search turns up many other models.

1) What is the best after market option for knuckles, but for a week end basher ($$).

2) Any tips on how I can temporarily fix this knuckle while the replacements come in (7-10 days)? My idea is to mix a little epoxy puddy and put it in with the original size screw in an attempt to get the screw to hold the knuckle (most likely permanently).

I tell you 7/10 times I use the car something breaks…..

Thanks in advance.

Replace your knuckles with the T-bolt and knuckles from a Jammin buggy. The T bold design has a lock nut holding the knuckles on which removes the possibility of stripped knuckles.

Para...

Let me get this straight, I should look to buy Jammin knuckles? Any specific Jammin model? Do they fit as is, or do I have to purchase something else with it?

What did you mean by T-Bolt?

Nope no specific model. The Cr, X1X and CRT all use the same parts
You basically need 4 parts

the T bolts
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_132/products_id/3758

the knuckles
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_132/products_id/3750

The knuckle bushing
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_132/products_id/3757

and the C-hubs (although i think the stock ravager ones can be used)
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_132/products_id/3766

Along with 4 - 4mm locknuts.

Those parts will drop right into the Ravager arms and will end stripped knuckles. There are also CNC Jammin knuckles but they are kinda pricy.

Thank you very much for taking the time to put this list together. Just to make sure, are this all the parts I'll need? It takes 2 weeks for me to receive anything out here and not buying every part needed in the same order can be frustrating.

So the C hubs on my Ravager should work with these Jammin knuckles?

PS

I'll still try the epoxy idea on the screw thread as a temporary fix, unless you guys have a better/proven idea.

I honestly can't remember if the Ravager c-hubs work they way they are with the Jammin Knuckles or require a little modding to fit. So for an extra $10 that's your call....

And yes that's all you need (those 4 parts plus the 4-4mm locknuts that I mentioned), the stock arms, drive shafts, and bearings work with these parts.

Your right, $10 and no doubts.

I have the 4 items on my wish list to make the conversion but I noticed the T-Bolts don't come with the nuts. Also, will I need any shims? I've looked around the amainhobbies web site and I can’t see them? Any ideas?

Sorry to bother you again but you know allot about the subject.
