Status: offline 		Was wondering if anyone can give me some advise on mounting the engine. I am installing a .46 2c engine but the instructions only give details on how to install the 4c engine. This is my first glow engine. I have been flying electrics. I wasn't sure if the engine mounts upright or on it's side. And if there was suppose to be a certain offset or not. I gotta say, these instructions are pretty basic and not the easiest ones i have read. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.

Status: offline 		You can mount it however you want.

It's up to you.

Thrust angles are set by the firewall.

As long as you have the engine "square" in it's mount, the thrust angles will be good.

This is by no means a beginners plane.

If you haven't done so, please join a club, and get certified.

If possible wait on this plane until you've built another plane or two that is better documented for novices.

Also you can download manuals for similiar planes from other manufacturers as guides. Try to download manuals for planes of the same size and of similiar type... there are a lot of good tips in the manuals.

Status: offline 		Oh, I am not going to fly this plane out of the backyard..lol There is a local club I am going to join. I just love to build and detail so i can't just leave it in the box. I am setting up all the control surfaces, servos, basically doing the build. I am waiting on the engine for last and not going to fly it until I join and get certified.Maybe not 'till spring. I am just trying to get info and do some research first. I appreciate the advise.

Status: offline 		Hello Stunning. If you have not purchased an engine yet for this plane then I would suggest you go with a .61 size motor. This plane comes out a bit heavy for a .46. I have had 2 of them and still fly the second. The c.g. is wrong on this plane. Do not attempt to balance at the recommended c.g. point. It will come out way too tail heavy. Balance at 3 inches from the leading edge and it will land real good and fly solid. I use a gms .61 in mine and it flies with authority. A .46 will fly it but just barely. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Status: offline 		I really appreciate it virtualvictum. I just got done reading about 2 hours worth of threads on the cg being wrong and using a .61 instead of a .46. And reading about the CG, it sounds like a .61 would be a good option anyway to move some weight to the nose. So it won't be totally scale but, I will at least know there is some power in reserve if i need it. So, 3". Wow, they really better do something about the incorrect instructions they supply with the ARF. Any weak areas that you may recommend re-inforcing? Have you ever had problems with the wing incidence at all? Did you have to adjust for any downthrust at all?(all questions that pop to mind after reading all the threads.) This will be an interesting step into glow engine planes it sounds like. What size batterypack did you run? I have a monster someone told me to install in it. a 4200mah 6v. Too big?
