Received the 11T today, and ,as I want to firewall-mount it, it seems I need the prop adapter "A" in the scanned instructions above.
It says in the instructions, that this "A" adaptor comes with the motor-----

But mine came with the "B" adaptor, for nose-ring mounting.
So---do I ask for an "A" adaptor from China (and ? cut off the redundant shaft out the back?)---I'm told there aren't any in the UK.

Or:
Is there some way of reversing the shaft(Although the instructions specifically warn agaist trying,with loss of warranty likely), and using the "B" adaptor that I already have?

Help!!

Both of mine are not true. Like it isn't turned true where the back of the prop touches it.. My prop isn't at 90 degrees off of it.. And yes, I've tried many props.. I mic'd it in several spots.. It's the adapters..

Running better tests now.. Will have graphs later (as soon as I figure out how to save them, lol) to show better numbers.. And yes, they are a little different in the daylight..

Status: offline 		It is possible to have the shaft reversed in a press. We bought a few 12T motors and had the shafts reversed. That way you can back mount it and still use the enclosed prop adapter. I'm sure it's not approved by the factory, but it can be done as we have lots of successful flights this way.

I'm ready for round 2.

I patched up the nose of my plane and installed my firewall mount. It's ready to go, sans paint. It actually came out fairly nice. I went ahead and set up the firewall for the Dualsky. Since it's a bit shorter than the Axi, the mount will work for both. The Axi will stick out a bit farther. However, the difference is not as great as the original front mount arrangement. I'm going to start with the Dualsky (Gulp).

I am going to try a couple new props. I visited Desert Aircraft at the AMA Convention. I had a $100 gift certificate which I won at last year's Camarillo IMAC contest. It was due to expire so I wanted to get a prop for my 40%. While there, I noticed they had a few of the Mejzlik e-props. I picked up two with my gift certificate (and an extra 10 bucks or so). One is a 22x12, the other is a very interesting looking 20.5x12W. When they say W, they mean it. The 22x12 looks sort of like the APC in shape, but it is slightly larger. I will have to open the cutout on my spinner slightly.

Hopefully I'll be able to get this thing in the air this weekend. If all is well then I'll see if I can get the paint redone by someone who is good (hopefully Kenny will have a spot open soon).

Status: online 		I've been running the Mejzlik 20.5x12W on the 6360-12T. I like it better than the APC 20x15 or APC 21x14. It handles the wind better than the Mejzlik 22x12. The 22x12 is a bit slow in the wind.

I find myself going WOT more than I did on the AXI with APC 20x13, but overall this seems to be a better combination for power consumption, temperature, downline braking and overall speed. I like it.

My Dualsky 11T motor efforts had to end---it killed my Hyperion ESC in a very short first flight as detailed in another thread, then ran into what seemed like massive (90A+) over-current problems when tried with a Castle Creations 85HV ESC.
My UK supplier didn’t seem to want to investigate the motor, beyond advocating “hard timing” (which I had tried without success)----but was willing to refund the motor’s cost---so that’s that for the Dualsky…
Until I can obtain another one from the US.
For the moment, I’m using an Axi 5330 F3A, CC 85HV ESC, Flightpower 5350 F3A pack, APC 20.5X14.
I ran into what seems to be a common problem from several threads on here----namely a nasty shrieking noise,accompanied by slowing of the motor, on advancing the throttle.
Remedies suggested seemed to fall into two groups---(a) involving reducing supply-side resistance as much as possible(short leads, bigger connectors, soldering instead of connectors &c.)
None of this made any difference.

(b) involved altering the timing.
Most advice seemed to incline to advancing the timing---this didn’t work for me----but a small remark on some Castle Creations instructions (that their soft timing option was advised for out runners---the opposite to advice elsewhere) ------As a last resort, I tried the soft timing option---and it works!!
The Axi runs smoothly between 0 rpm and WOT of 6000rpm, so the soft timing doesn’t seem to have affected the power.
What timing options are others using?

I use the same exact setting with my Dualsky 12T and my Axi and it runs fine too. The Axi does seem to have a little more power then the Dualsky just because the Dualsky spends more time at high throttle compared to the Axi. But the Dualsky is lighter and uses less battery.

In my testing with the AXI F3A and the Dualsky 11T and 12T motors, 24 degrees seemed the best overall. If I went higher, they just ran hotter and not as smoothly.

The AXI F3A and Dualsky 12T are different kV motors. The AXI is approx 235 kV and the 12T is about 210 kV. This gives the edge to the Dualsky on larger props and the AXI on smaller props at higher rpms. The Dualsky 11T and the AXI F3A are almost identical in performance, both being approx 235 kV motors.

I had strange noises from about half throttle upwards from the first run on my 11T---so perhaps not the same as you-----but mine was cured completely (so far!!) by using the soft/low timing option on my (CC 85HV) ESC---and this was after trying all the other options suggested above ,in this thread,and the 11T thread.
My motor has now developed what would be described as end-float on what would be the crankshaft if it were an IC engine----but there's no lateral play ,so I'm guessing/hoping that the bearings are OK-----The Dualsky is (relatively) a cut-p
