Hi fellow tankers

I have just put together a new site for the danish panzer team www.panzerteam.dk

have a look, and please do come with suggestions.

BTW, I have bought the Impact reduction gears ( are now in a box of oil ) and together with 480 motors and my El-mod stuff, this (i hope) will really kick a.. at the battlefields.

Also I bought the Impact Early Tiger belts, which really looks and feels like high quality. Both are bought from Willy

I will post some pictures of the modding on panzerteam.dk and in this forum.

Oh, not to forget, also got some new airsoft guns for the tigers. In PanzerTeam Denmark we tried one of them out, and it shoots more than 45 meters. I has a lot of power

cheers

so, the panzer team changed all their 88mm from HL to VS Tank. Great improvement. Now they shoot over 40 meters with high power.

The test was made shooting at a normal letter size paper, which I was holding appx 3 meters away from the Tiger. The bullet went right through, and the paper didnt move.

Just a small modification had to be made on the HL gun outer barrel and the fittings to the turret.

We are going to have a battle january 6, and this is going to be wild.
happy newyear everybody.

Steen

What VS guns did you use. I found the guns from the Leopard 6 were the best of the VS guns. They fit nicely in the Tiger's (extended) barrels. As you said there is just a slight modification that needs to be made to the gun to fit. In as much as the VS guns are pretty consistant with power, their power is still limited. I finally figured out a way to maximize the HL airsoft gun (my airsoft gun experiments been evolving over the last 2 years). My guns can now shoot through a cardboard box at 3 feet and I now have developed a hop-up system that makes them shoot about 30 meters with minimal drop (so they are pretty accurate). With out the hop up the bb would float in any direction after it starts to loose velocity. I have to use 0.20g bbs (and even .25g bb) because the 0.12g bb tend to fly away (upwards with the back spin)

Hi Thomas

I used these ones from ToyEast

VSTANK PRO LEOPARD2 A5 RC TANK AIRSOFT BARREL MECH

Also I use the heavier 0.20 bullets. they gives more precise shooting

Actually I bought one of your modified guns in march, and it still fires with good power Are you still in business ?

cheers

How are the Impact gears and the 480 motors working out for you?

One suggestion about my guns to keep them firing hard, "clean and lubricate the inner barrels". I've noticed that my guns tend to loose power over time. I used a varsol (paint thinner) to clean the inner barrel and then a dry silicone lubricant to lubricate. (I used a pipe cleaner- one end to wet the other end to dry) The guns were as good as new and back to their original power. Since you picked that gun up I've figure out how to put a hop-up in the HL gun to give it the back spin like the VS guns have. I've found that the VS guns are powerful and consistant in their power but their ability to have that power increase is limited (probably 180fps max with a 0.12g bb) I was actually able to get upto 250pfs with an upgraded HL attached to a 6.03mm inner diameter barrel. Unfortunately with that power the gun disintegrated after a few weeks (the power was too great for the gears-which is the weakest link in the airsoft unit) Now its time to look at your pics here

Hello Steen ,
I love your site !
I have to apologize for not sending you that promised chassis-plate …
Since you left the US from your last trip and our contact , I bean busy like crazy …
I will still make up these plates and will also list them in my shop for the other tanker’s ,
since I had now a few more guys which are using the IMPACT TU’s in there Hen Long and Matorro tanks.
I also posted some detailed instructions and some additional info’s for braking-in of these gearboxes ,
for smoother running and reduced noise as well additional gear-ratio-options .
http://www.customrcmodels.com/shop/impact_upgrades.htm
Please let me know how your set is holding up , since you received back then a set with a mix of brass and steel gear’s ..
In the meantime I worked with IMPACT on a few improvements for these TU’s to make them basically bullet-proof ,
with all steel-gears and even stronger out-driveshaft’s to make them hold up even the most brutal abuse …
I keep also spare gears in stock for owners of the previous released TU’s
to exchange the final drive gears to all steel version if needed .
This exchange I will do of course free of charge !

Keep up the good work with your website and have fun with your tanks
Let me know when you are back in the US , maybe we can hook up one of these days !

Kind regards and happy tanking

Willy

Hello Willy,

Got the Gearboxes they look great, I think even a novice can appreciate the workmanship! Excellent maintenance and installation manuals, but I have one question what is the size and thread pitch of the screw that you use to mount the drive wheel to the shaft? It is probably a standard screw that Tamiya uses but all my tanks are Heng Long, which is a much smaller screw! I can't wait to do some hill climbing with these new TU's instlled, but I can wait to install them right!!!

Hi Willy,

good to hear from you again Well, I have been busy my self, tons of work, you know. One of my friends at work, actually is in Seattle next week, and I wondered if I can get a new gearbox, Idlers, Sprockets and Metal belts for a Matorro King Tiger, to arrive in time before he leaves Seattle again Friday 8. March.

Cheers
Steen

Hey Phil, I didn't know Willy had these gearboxes. Can you post some information about them on the "Motor and Gearbox Testing" thread when you start messing with them? Interested in how they compare to the other 2 and their gear ratios.

OK Guys, Check out the links that Willy has above! I ordered them a while ago, I really just want to be able to move after being hit seven times, in an IR battle, I know I will loose top end speed! I am dying to try them out, but I have some customers work to finish first! It will ba at least another week or more, before I get to them, I had to put them out of sight because it is tempting! I will be mounting them in my Matorro KT and using Tamiya'a motors so we can get some data! What the heck is the screw and thread size that Tamiya uses for their shaft though?
