i would trust the met office forecast as far as i could throw my house.

i am now resigned to the weather gods and what will be will be.

just got back from raf scampton to assess the site.

When you all arrive, you need to report to the main guard room where you will be issued your visitors pass/vehicle pass. this will need to be displayed in the front of your windscreen at all times on unit.

When you go through the barrier you will need to follow the signs for the red arrows (marked out by ....red arrows- see what they did there??)

when you get level with the last hanger (reds hanger) you need to go straight on and follow the road around. at the end of the road, you will come to a t junction on the taxi way. turn right at this point and on your right, you will see a large concrete area with ramped sides. perfect jump for r/c cars! lol

this is the hard standing to be used for caravans for the event.
those camping in tents are to use the grass on the far side of the ramp. it should become obvious when you get there.

The toilets will be located there too.

Water supplies.
If anyone needs fresh water, please contact either myself or any of the organising staff and we will fetch it for you.

overnight model storage is really only suitable for the big stuff. if it can be kept in the car then please do so.
for more info, give me a call.

Fingers crossed for the weather and happy landings to you all.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thank you very much for a very well organised excellent weekend, looking forward to next years allready, any idea when it''s going to be? Only kidding!! Polo shirt is worth every penny, nobody deserved to win that 190 more than you for all the hard work & sleepless nights you mentioned of late. Excellent bbq saturday evening, plenty of people & models, what more could one ask for?

on my kids life it was one ticket out of a fivers worth i bought!!

the funny thing is the mars bag that was won by dan platts was donated to the raffle by him in the first place!!

we finally got away from scampton at 8pm.

we found 1 bolt with a springer washer on it which looks to come out of a petrol engined model or exhaust bolt due to the staining on it. Also found was some form of pin, poss out of an engine.

Not too bad tho.

If anyone has lost a hopper tank for a turbine, email me
