Ok here is another video of the MGT 8 at the track...

13 tanks or so through at the park and the beach with no damage. It was time to take this bad boy to the track to see how long he would last. It was the back jump and those bad landings on the tail end that did it, one to many. The bumper withstood some good hits but once the brace broke, it left the arms open for damage so that last bad landing broke the arm. At least that is what I think happened. Hey I never said I was an expert driver LOL!

In the end, I am still loving this truck!

The track is located at HotRod Hobbies http://www.hotrodhobbies.com Many thanks for having this track! I will be back!

FYI, do not break your truck cause not all the parts seem to be available. I am going to call TA tomorrow but none of the new parts lists are online yet. You can however use RPM arms and hubs so that is great, already ordered those. However I need to replace that bumper brace and get some of the new Factory Team stuff and Tower Hobbies is not selling them yet either. It looks like the steering hardware, saver etc... most of that stuff is the same as the old MGT so I ordered everything I could from Tower.... Now I just need to get those new parts from TA, hopefully I can order over the phone.
Will keep ya posted!

sweet vid! the truck would probably be more stable with some 40 series bowties on it. might be able to land jumps and take turns better. the stock tires are great for bashing, not so great for great for racing.

The Pro .50 does not have a ringed piston. I just seen a pic of it on MONSTER GT. COM. The sleave has 4 ports.

Yea I do not think I will take it to the track again. I am very new to the track scene and have a lot to learn. Better to leave the expensive MT on the side and track it in my GT10 or XT2 LOL.

Now the question is HOW will I use some bowties (or BigJoes more likely) on it? With those 22mm hubs and no adapters out it looks like AE is forcing us to use those tires and ONLY those tires? This does not sound like the AE I know but times are changing... If anyone knows how I would use different tires on this badboy, please let me know!

Well it really is not meant for the track... at least not in that state. LOL

Called AE today and ALL of the MGT 8.0 specific parts are NOT in stock. They say they will get some in early next week. I guess this is what happens when you buy something that is so new. Not so bad though. I should have the arms and hub carriers in a few days so it will give me time to get those on and everything adjusted right

Kinda sick that I wont be driving it for a few days.... I love that thing LOL...

OK aparently the axles are the same as the previous truck so you can use what ever Hex nuts fit on the MGT. That will solve the tire issue. I guess I will go and buy some aftermarket 23mm hubs for it. Any MGT owners have some good ones they can point me too? Many thanks!

For 23mm adapters everyone runs dace. for 17mm adapters everyone runs the aluminum maximizers.

Many thanks. I jumped the gun and already ordered the proline 23mm adapters and the associated adapters for the mgt. I have some Big Joes so I will be ready to go!

Uhh, those prolines are gonna kill you.

Return them and get the dace's. Seriously, almost everyone w/ Prolines have broken the tiny 6mm axles and the axle pins. getting the $20 more expensive Dace adaptors are NEEDED for these axles.
I got the Prolines and returned them as soon as they arrived. But with the Dace's, you'll need some 14mm hexes for a tmaxx or MGT.

You'll need this
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/3244

and this
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFUG7&P=Z

Sorry, I can't find 14mm hexes at amain...

Also, the 17mm hexes will work just fine! Good luck.
