Seems to be quiet around here lately...I take it everyone is out driving there trucks vs fixing? LOL It is like impossible to find a lower repplacement A arm for my truck, that I cracked at the track the other week in any of the LHS's around here. Only found one with uppers and they all seem to carry the RPM's but not ready to make the change over yet and want to be able to obtain the taller ride height if needed.

Let me ask anyone who knows....While I can dial in more breaking action and might not really need this. But does the optional Fiber disc for the 4.6 give more breaking action than the standard steel disc that comes on the 8.0? The price is like 4 times as much so this sounds like a option part to me. It should fit the hex outdrive cup on the 8.0 as well since they are identical to the 4.6 truck right?

Just could not stop in time on the track and hit the board at the end of the straight and broke my arm...So looking for more brake maybe. I know I can dial in a bit more braking action and using the factory Hi Torq servo on the throttle and brakes as well. Just might want to try something else down the road and experiment.

The spring that is on the brake rod fits perfect inside a bit of fuel tube just cut the fuel tube same length as the spring and push it inside it gives so much more braking power.

As for the RPM arms go for it all round you won’t look back they are soooooooo much stronger the stock are just to brittle, I fitted my shocks to the middle boss on the lower A arm and the ride height is fine any higher and the truck would topple over every corner. For an example how strong they are bashing the other week came down hard on the back wheel snapped the turnbuckle in two the A arm was fine.

What kind of rims you got Rabbit? Got any pics of masher. Hey dude, my freaking Mini Monster Baja's servos stripped! Both of them! They just keep spinning the moment I turn the power of the car on. Hope Horizon will be cool with warranty.

I've got another set of the Proline Cheyanns's. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJVG0&P=7 and there are the Mashers... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEWT0&P=7 They are just all around good tires, last a while and look tough to me :P

Yea those JR servo's. Mine came with both broken or one of them anyway. I just took them out and put Hitecs in there. However like with some other Losi stuff they try to force you in to using their crappy junk (even tho they are JR's in there). I put Hitec's in there of course but you have to make your own steering servo using something like this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXS446&P=7 from Kimbrough. Just get the one that will fit your servo. you just ned to figure out which hole you are going to use and dremmel the size of it down a bit. It becomes obvious what needs to be done once you start doing it. My servo's also needed to be slightly shaved down so the steering assembly could move over it. If you need help I let me know. I would snap some pics for you but I sold he thing already. I will see if I took any pics of it but I dont think I did.

Going to Hot Rod Hobbies track today if anyone is around and wants t meet up. Going to have the full on setup with extra table, chairs, wind and sun breakers... everything but the kitchen sink...

Let me know, my buddy is going to film as well I dont know if I like that idea. I'm not used to the track so I know I'm going to hate making this video LOL. I am trying to get more steering out of my MGT but should have it fixed sometim today. I got some Bowtie's (40's, 23mm) that will be used. I might take off some of tha preload as well..

If you are in the area come check us out!

I am going to go with Proline Beadlock Commando's and Moab's (40 series and the wide style). I like the looks of the Beadlocks and you can keep your wheels and easily buy different tires and swap them out....Just more flexbility I think...Despite the added weight of the BL's, but for bashing it doesn't matter. Since I am going to run Velocity Dish wheels and 40 series crimefighters for track use and having the 23mm adapters on the truck makes from switching between the two different sets of tires just a couple of mins as well.

If you want the true monster truck look and alot of tire....The mashers are it for sure. What wheels were you going to use again?

Does anyone know of a process or paint that you can spray on chrome to simulate the Black Chrome looks? I used Red and Blue anodyzing paint before and it works pretty good for touching up Alum. AN fittings on automotive projects.....Was not sure if anyone makes a kit or paint to accomplish this....Would like to Black Chrome the regular chrome wheels I do get.

Yeah I know about that....Did that a while back....I also have the high torque factory servo on my brakes as well. I just need to dial in more braking and I should be fine. When I first set it up, on the grass I would hit the brakes and flip the truck over forward....LOL Too much....I am sure I can balance it out without locking them on the clay tracks. I am probably just misjudging the distance I really need to stop that thing on the track vs just bashing which is a bit different.

Was also curious if that MGT 4.6 Fiber disc worked on our 8.0 truck, which I think it would have to? Does it grab faster anyone know?

Well do you have the track results and the video ready yet? -) How did the bowtie's work for you? Like I said I am going to run Crimefighters as that seems to be the tire they use around these here parts. Did you do the steering mod to your knuckles yet? I desperately have to do this before I hit the track again...need MORE steering. I will also have a 1600 pack in there next time a well...Out with the AA's.

I have Red springs, No spacers, Stock arms and 55 Weight oil all the way around. How about you?

I see now K223 you have plenty of braking power sounds like you just need to set up a brake curve on the radio for the clay track, I hope I get the same results as you got with the high torque servo I should have mine by the weekend. I am going to try to balance the truck on the front wheels for a second or so with that brake power but will probaly do a lot of fliping forward.

I was looking at that at that fiber disc should fit but is it smooth like the disc on our 8.0 or a corse finish if corse them it will probaly rip through the brake pads in no time.

Man I dont know what I was running LOL... I spent more time wrenching at the table with the cars I thought I had working right LOL... The LT8 lost the steering servo after 3 laps then I used my Revo which I was doing terrible with. They changed the track all around so I was trying to get used to it again as well as jus tbeing new to the track. The Revo had crap steering. The 40 series ires an what I though were bowties did NOT seem to work well unless the track was watered down and i almost immediatly dried up. So I think I lost the clutch on the Revo because it would not idle right and the tires spin like crazy I still tried to drive it but it became a pain. By that time the day was almost over. I pulled out the CRT.5 and did the best I did all day (which was not that great). Of course my camera man was no where to be found when I actually went round the whole track without crashing. The crt.5 handled the best with those stock tires (new) and that dirt. I was also just getting in to the track when the guy came by and said they were closing down. The day just flew by so fast.

The guy that is up here "Shawnofthedead" has a Jammin and he showed up. Cool guy and can drive much better. I wiill get a video up soon on my site but mostly of him LOL... I learn a lot going to the track that is for sure. It is a very different thing sitting at a park hitting hills than manuvering a technical track withough higging stuff. Not just that though, just getting used to how things work there and all that. I really hate 13 year old kids destroying me on the track tho... Polite little ****er too which makes it worse... LOL...

Video soon...
