NewEra extenders not heavy, they are aluminum. I think the stock AE ones are steele.

Another thing I want to add about my first impression of the trucks compared to the MGT. The Savage XL out of the box has a poor throttle servo. Servo and servo setup is poor. The servo linkage keeps binding with the side of the body. I looked on Savage forums and I guess thats a problem that everyone has! You would figure HPI after releasing a new Savage would address an issue as simple as fixing the binding problem of a throttle linkage. And the servo is so weak it barely pulls the throttle open at full throttle without jerking! They put on a throttle return spring that has more force than the stock servo can pull! Crazy! I guess this is why I consider AE and Losi are better quality companies vs HPI and Traxxas.

I'm not sure what to say. Under extreme useage on my MGT the Proline's would just bend and shred... Like once I had to pry it off the axle... I am trying to find one I killed to show you but cant so far... Search this string for Dace and you will see where someone gave ME the advice and then me not taking it etc... lol...

A new big bad truck they come out with and still carry over the little issues that plague the old trucks. While some of AE's stuff is not the most exotic, it's usually good quality and just works and carries durability. They are slow to market and make changes, but there base vehicle when released finally is a pretty decent performer all the way around. Losi is up there as well on performance and durability usually. Still I can look at some things Losi makes and find some issues...Well nobody's perfect.

I put a stock hi torque steering mgt servo on my throttle and brakes and that really made a nice improvemnt. Now I have a receiver pack isntalled talk about working the throttle and the brakes...It's going to be great! While the stock steering does the job, for track use or heaving bashing I mean turning at high speeds a stronger servo is needed.

Soooo is there anyone else out there that makes extenders as well? I think you said this was the only company you can find? I like the look of your truck with them on actually....Not it's just the durability test.

Well it would be good to see the carnage.....But what was torn up the actual hex area or where the pin goes in the adapter on the axle? Did your wheels get ruined as well or?

Ive actually had axle pins on my MGT break with the stock 23mm steel adapters. One thing's for sure, it is a pain to take off the stock adapters sometimes. I usually always have to use a flathead screwdriver to remove the adapter from the pin and axle.

Yea around there. It just cant handle it. Maybe I did not put them on tight enough but I did not want to crack the plastic rimms. I dont know. The Dace adapters have worked so well for me and never hand a problem yet. The Prolines i have broken 2 and 1 is so beat up its more of an emergency one... either way I cant find any of them LOL. I made a decision to throw away broken parts so I might have tossed them. The Dace adapters cost more but are worth it. I would take this one over the the MGT.Forum where you can get some other input. This must have been discussed a million times. I AM interested in bulletproof extenders tho... how badly did you beat that thing...Tuc???

Yea keep in mind I put those Proline's through some hell.... but I have put the Dace ones through 20x that... Actually one broke one of the Proline's while we made that wheelie video a way back. We werent even doing anything there... The truck still drove tho and did not notice untill I took off the wheels... so could have been the run prior..

Take that thing out and bash it good, see if those extenders can handle it

Well I have been running the proline adapters since I got my truck a few months back. They have not given me any troubles yet but you have to keep those things tight. I check the tightness after every tank of gas becuase it doesn't take them long to losen up. Other than that im happy with them but I could just be lucky who knows

After each tank of gas I always check all my wheel screws. Even with the stock I notice it would start to loosen up after a tank or two. Tech at AE said he double nut and loctite his! I rather just check it after each run!

I wonder if here is enough room to at least try a think lock washer on the Proline adapters? Still I would check them frequently. I will probably mount up the new wheels and see how it is with the Prolines and wait until I hear how your test runs go with your extenders and see if they can endure the bashing. They seem like the way to go if they can handle it.

I'm gonna have to try the pro-lines. I bought the entire package for 140$ and have got everything but the moabs. I dont know I hope its not as bad as it sounds. So did we come to any conclusion on weather its Dace or New era that work the best and does anyone have links? Maybe I'll try to order a set of those and get em before I get the wheels on I don't know. Guess I'll keep checking in with whats happening and when I get mine I'll be sure to let everyone know whats happening. Maybe I'll order a different servo in the mean time.

Since I have my wheels and tires mounted and the Proline adapters on hand, I am going to mount them up and see how it looks. If decent will run it out for now. Tuc is going to test out the New Era extenders and let us know if they can take a beating and if we switch to these we can regain alot of steering and maybe a good solution for track use possibly.

The important things seems to be, just keep those adapter nuts tightened down before, during and after your runs with the truck. Not sure if I want to get into globbing up the threads with threadlocker as I will be switching between some track wheels and these from time to time and so forth. I am going to see if I can fit either a lock wash in there or maybe even drill the adapter out and stick a cotter pin in there so it has no choice but to stay tight and not strip out a wheel hex.

K223,

You should be able to fit a lock
