The new Kyosho buggy is the replacement to their current competition buggy the Inferno MP777 WC. It is a 1/8 scale kit. I am thinking about putting my current RB C6 motor from my Losi 8ight T truggy into the buggy (although everyone is saying its too much for a buggy). I want to then get a .28 for my Losi 8ight T. I am tempted to get a Novarassi P5 and put one in each of the monster trucks! I hear thats one helluva motor for monster trucks! The only issue Im worried about is if the diffs, tranny and gear boxes can handle the extra load put on by the P5 motor.

What are you going to put those P5's in? I think I would leave the 8.0 as is and if you want more power from it get a .50 modded out. That would make for some truck motor...Ton of torque but can really rev and make more horsepower. I will probably at some point do one up. I gather those P5's are like 400-500 buck engines?

Yah.. I want to put on on the MGT 8, LST 2, Savage XL and TMaxx... people are saying that motor will out run the stock 8.0 left and right, but not sure how true that is.

I know it will make more peak power and rev fast to get there....Just wonder how good it will perform in a really heavy vehicle vs. most of the lighter buggies and truggy's people put them into to race. Be interesting to see if all that horsepower really adds up or the bigger torque monster really can hold it's own to some degree. I know the stock .50 is by far a tame motor compared to a high dollar race mill.

What do you think about this Break in Scheme? Please also fill in the max WOT time on the 6-9 tanks.

I'm getting my MGT 8.0 on next monday so here's a question

Does model technics make good fuel? On my oher car I use a Qwikfire 16 fuel but I feel like getting a fuel with 20-30% nitro in it so is the Big Bang good then?

Honestly this is the first time I have seen this type of break in procedure and think it's a little out of the ordinairy. You pretty much dial in your needle settings to the specs listed on a page or two back from AE and then richen things up a bit further for break in. You can look in your engine manual that comes with the truck, but it's probably still uncorrected and has the wrong settings...However based on the settings you start with here and then look and see what they tell you to do for the break in say richen up your high speed needle another half a turn or whatever and they also give a break in procedure in the book. Just do not start with the base settings they give you as they have been way wrong. Just start off driving your truck slowly in figure eights and around nice and easy and just avoid full throttle or even anything near or above half throttle for at least the first few tanks and if you have a temp gun...You can check and make sure the temp doesn't go crazy high. But you do need to get the engine up close to 200 and then well above during the following break in tanks. You can do a search and find many break in procedures that pertain to the thermal cycling. After each tank let the motor complety cool down and always make sure you put your piston at BDC and don't leave it up in the pinch area of the cylinder.

I have used O'Donnels, Sidewinder and Byrons in 20 and 30 percent and they all seem very good. I beleive the O'Donnels has slightly more lube and probably better for break in....The others are more than sufficient but slightly lower percentage wise if you go to the race blends. But you really should know how to dial in your truck by that point be able not to run it to lean or hot.

Tuc should have listed the starting base needle settings her received from AE and they are great! I have leaned a little from that, but you will want to richen for break in. Maybe he can suggest exactly where to start for the break in.

ok, I knew that I should richen it, but I made that since I saw this video and at 2:20 he talks about a method like this and I just tried to simplify it with the different tanks :P
Here's the link to the video if you didn't see it in the middle of the text :P Da link

And on my last car the break in was 10 tanks so I thought this would be the same :P I also want a really nice break in since I won't really buy a new engine if this goes, I don't have the money for it this R/C car is already expensive as heck for me

This sounds like the stupidest of questions and I know how tools work and fit very well. But I bought a 20 buck EDS Aluminum 23mm wheel wrench to tighten down the nuts on the Proline adapters and the nut just barely fits in the wrench. I thought I had a bad wrench and returned it for another and sure enough it's the same. I just went in and out and exchanged it up front at my LHS....Should have asked someone about it. But if only 2/10 of the nut fits in the wrench socket, that seems lousy and eventually the nuts will be stripped and looking ugly.

I guess I should have just bought Prolines wrench....If this is just a poorly manufactured design then I will never spend money on EDS tools again.

K223,

Get the Craftsman 23mm socket, works great! I dont like using tools from hobby stores, they suck! I got a 23mm, 24mm and 17mm, and 12mm-3mm Craftsman socket sets and I never have problems with any thing not fitting etc. One thing I learned from my old hobby (car audio) dont go cheap with tools. I think my tools collection is worth as much as my car collection!

Gwypaas,

Go back a few pages and look for the settings AE gave me. Like I said those settings work great. During breakin I just left it like that I was always under 200. I leaned out 1-2 hours depending on weather and my car flys at abour 220-230 degrees.

I break-in a little on the rich side, run the truck around at 1/4 throttle for a tank.
The next tank I get a little more on the throttle, maybe almost half, for a short period at a time.
The next tank a get half throttle for short period maybe 4-5 secounds
The next tank I get 3/4 throttle for short period 4-5 secounds at a time
The last tank I run it wot for short period.
Then I lean it out a little and bash around. I am a little easy on it for about a gallon
Always let the truck cool after each tank, and put the piston at bdc.
When the motor starts to make good power at a slighty rich setting you are done.
Now lean it for max performance if you race, leave it like it is if you bash.

Yeah I always spend money on the good tools....Whether automotive or RC....I like some the nicer stuff and it works pretty good. I wanted the alum wheel wrench because I thought it would just work well and not have to start pulling tools from my toolbox. Plus I wanted to use an alum. wrench on alum nuts as to not gouge them up and kill the Anodized finish. I think I have done more than good using the nice alum wrench at this point as it's fit sucks. Probably will return it and go some other way....I wonder if they have a website, I would call them actually...Tell them how bad there product is.

Anyhow on the flip side....The wheels and tires looks wise rock....Will see how they perform....My truck looks alot bigger now.

Hey Tuclai, I have gone back to look for the breakin settings you said the AE tech gave you and I can't find them. Can you give them again or tell me which page in this thread they were on? Thanks.

The settings for the needles are: 3 out for the HS..4 1/2 out for the LS...MS should be flush with the carb then out 1/2 of a turn...Hope this helps
