Just got my new bearings for my FS 40. What is the easiest way to remove the cyl?

Does it simply slip up like the 2/stroke's?
Mine is stiff.

I warmed the engine up and the sleve came out easily.
Now,,,, Any advice on how I set valve timing?

I have done several Saitos but this is my first OS

Think it`s a good idea to remove the cam shaft before removing crank shaft. As far as timing thats some where on this site. I recommend that if a person is getting in to 4-strokes that they get the books from RCM on OS & Saito. Sure do help a lot!

Thanks,

I found the thread and instructions.

This was not hard at all once I understood the timing procedure. To be honest. I had to look very hard to find the timing mark on the camshaft. BTW, I have had Saitos from as far back as 1985. This is my first OS.

Boy! this engine is like new now. I started it up and even idles lower now with the new bearings. I guess its time for my old Saito's to get new bearings.
