I bought a motor at a Vagas show. The manufacturer is "Storm"

here are some of the spes:

voltage range: 10-37

KV(RPM/V): 200

thrust oz: 6000-10000
watts :2880
recomended speed conroller =100A

recomended battery/prop: 6s lipo with 18X12, 8s lipo, 16X10

I will be using a castle creations HV110 capapble of handling 12 cell lipos

I have build 2 6s packs and plan on puting them in series to increase voltage along with another 6s or 4s in parallel to increase capacity

now knowing that these packs are 2300mah how do I determine how much flight time I can expect.

I am waiting on a "watts UP" meter to arrive to determine draw. but meanwhile How can I determine what to expect. the airframe will be a cap 231 60 wing doing mild aerobatics

I would like about 8-10 minutes......is this the best way and at the same time keeping within the limits of the engine

Incarus,

You really need to know the Amp draw of your set-up. The problem is, amp draw varies so much depending on set-up. I use a program called Moto-Calc. You can find it at www.motocalc.com . It is one of the most intuitive programs I have ever used. It allows you to configure different airframes, motors, speed controls and even battery packs. It will give you speed, time, amp draw, and torque estimations. You can even "try" different size props to see how it affects your set-up.

It takes a while to get used to it, but once you have it down, it's pretty darn amazing.

Good luck.

If you will be using 2 ea. 6S packs in series then you would have to have two more 6S packs also in series in order to run them in parallel to increase (doub;e) the capacity.

You can not have only part of the total series cell count paralleled.

WAG . Mild aerobatics require 75 to 100 watts per pound. If your aircraft weight 8 pounds then 600 to 800 watts required.
12S under load at 2.8 per cell = 33.6V. Split the watts requirement to 700 watts . 700 / 33.6V=20.8Amps.

2100 mAh leaving a tad of reserve =2.1Ah X60/20.8=6 minutes.
