You should never close the regulators all the way. This can in a rare case damage the silicone regulator parts or possibly damage the spring. Instead your reference should always be the case of the regulator.

On the 63S I would say a good starting point is just inside flush with the regulator case. About 1/2 to 1 turn closed from the regulator screw flush with the case. This is a good starting point.

On the YS regulators that are attached to the engines not 110S or 63S then flush with the case is the starting point.

Hi Troy,

I followed your instructions about the regulator and finally my FZ63 runs fine, the idle and HS are great. Here goes the problem, this morning at 2nd flight (the 1st was fine) the issue came back. the engine runs too rich and over heater, the transitions from idle to high are realy bad. after some seconds at idle the rpm downs to zero. Can the fuel tank leaking cause this issue ?

thanks,
Elson

Yes if the tank is not holding pressure this would be a major issue with the engine running properly.

Try a new glow plug also.

In consitent runs like you are describing is usually a bad fuel issue, perhaps some dirt or debris contamination in the fuel, or fuel that has lots of water other contaminates in it.
