...Hello, I'm relatively new to RCU.
Does anyone here fly spads in Las Vegas? I'd like to find some people to fly with. I also fly balsa, but the spads are always the first out of the truck. Check out my RCU profile to see my current version of the SPA3DT.

Funny you should ask, I just demolished this one an hour ago. The elevator linkage must have disconnected because I wasn't able to pull out of a dive. It went straight in and fast. Before this I have had atleast 30 flights, with at most with a bent gear or cracked motor mount. I set the elevator to have almost 80 degrees of down elevator, which would make it appear to be CLIMBING in an inverted flat spin. When I redo it, Ill get some video... I don't have the skills to hover longer than a few seconds (at a little over half throttle) but it had plenty of power to pull out of the messes I put it into. I would describe the flight characteristics of this plane as "irratic". Very precise about its roll axis, but very unstable pitch wise. I have to figure out the CG (I'll use the MAC Calculator) because When the power is on...I have to use down elev to keep it away from straight up, but when the engine quits...it glides like a brick! I'll figure these problems out when I rebuild. I know about the drag this wing creates, and Im sure it's design doesn't help, but it sure is easy to build! I think the wing loading is too high too.
Span: 42"
Chord: 10" (ailerons 4" at root)
Fuse Length: 32"
Weight: ?
