I ordered a Sig Four Star 60 kit and it is the first time I'm building this plane. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions regarding the Four Star build? I have built other Sig planes and I'm happy with the quality, instructions, and performance of their products.

I too am building a four star 60 and using an 82 Saito. Awesome plane. Especially if you use your own monocote scheme. It makes the plane look way more updated. Just make sure when you build the wing that you put all the pieces together first then glue it together. What I mean is trial fit everything. Then look it over very good before you glue anything. Also the direction are not very clear on the up or down side on the ribs. Youll see what I mean when you start to build the wing. I was not very happy with the instructions that came with it. There ok, but Im in construction and I had to give some thought about a few things, including the wing. Hey its winter just slow it down and dont rush. That probably why you ordered a kit right? Yes you will be happy with it. I put a 16 ounce tank in mine also. Just put the tank floor lower.. Make sure to fit your battery under the floor too make sure you have enough room for it. Other than that I left everything stock. Great kit.

Many people who build this kit leave off the last rib bay on each wing, thus shortening the wingspan. It actually enhances the performance and reduces the tendency for this plane to float on by as you try to land. A reduction in dihedral is another mod.
I used seperate aileron servos(standard size) . This plane could also use flaps as well as it does have a tendency to float.
There have been so many threads on this plane on this site as well as E-Zone that you could literally go out of your mind trying to decide what you want to do. The 4* series is one of the most popular planes on the market today.
At one fly-in I saw a 4*120 built with retact tricycle gear.
I built mine to resemble a german warbird complete with decals and pilot. The trouble was the camo which worked a little too well as it would sometimes "disappear" into the background.

If you don't want to clip the wings at this time, I suggest still adding an extra set of hinges one bay in from the tips. That way, if you ever decide to clip the wings, you'll have hinges already in place to support the aileron tips. And if you don't shorten the wings, an extra set of hinges will not affect the stock configuration.

I suppose this really should have been in the kit building forum and not the kit manufacturers forum.
