I'd suggest going ahead and getting the brushless set up before the stock motor fails so that you don't have too much down time. Also, if the motor fails you may have to do an auto to get the heli down in one piece so many ppl have just replaced the motor before it fails to prevent any further damage.

Druss,
thanks for the advise, I am already shopping for a motor and ESC. I don't think It will be getting too high off the ground in the first few flights though

Yes, definately go brushless. I have a couple of never used motors in the drawer from HBK2's from customers that would not fly the stock motor.

And for me they day the brushed motor died was day 2 of owning it. Just go brushless from the get go and save yourself the frustration. Junk is not near a strong enough world to explain the stock motor. When I first got my king 2 I was like it cant be as bad as everyone says...but trust me it is.
