my friend has the origional tmaxx. the one with the .15 i think. i took him to the race track yesterday with my bl stampede and he couldn't jump... he would go off the ramp and bam, nose into the dirt.. i don't get it, his truck should be able to jump.
is this normal for maxxes or is he doing something wrong as a driver?

let me know,

so your saying it jumps, but lands nose first? he needs to gove it a little gas while in the air to straighten it up i think

Yeah, tell him to floor it next time. Maybe he needs a little more power to clear the jumps.

Throttle control will definately help. Increase throttle to bring the nose up, brakes to bring the nose down. You might want to decrease the preload on the rear springs as well. Sounds like your buddies springs are kicking the rear high.

What is the preload? And how do you set it?

Preload is the same as ride height. It is adjusted by adding more or bigger preload clips on the shocks, or if they are threaded shocks, threading the collars down.

No, ride height is not the same as preload.
Preload is, in it's simplest form, adjusting the tension on the shock springs. That will affect ride height but more importantly it adjusts how the suspension of the truck reacts to terrain and driving conditions and how it handles.
Ride height is how far the chassis sits off the ground. That can be adjusted many ways. Shock mounting positions, tire diameter, shock preload are just a few of the ways to adjust ride height

Oh, and my Pro.15 T-Maxx jumps just fine so it's either the driver or the suspension set-up because the truck itself can do it.

you can also preload before the jump by getting to the jump and letting off the throttle and then ram it when you get to the middle section of the ramp..
