Taking the front axles out on the avalanche will burn up the clutch. You wont any acceleration, it just slips really really bad.

Yes taking the front axles out would not be good because of teh center diff setup. If it had a transmission then yes you can take out the front axles.

So has the date been extended? Just saw this thread and we have some killer EARTHQUAKE (by far the best RedCat wheelie machine) wheelie vids that we can post.

I think the date has been extended but I don't think we have any confirmation. This is Ehroof's contest and with him tending to much more important matters we might have to wait a little while to get details. As soon as i figure out exactly what shock/diff oils i need I'm gunna get real serious about making my Avalanche do some wheelies.

I know everyone is saying "ill get some videos", but if this competition goes until feb the first or end of jan i will make a DOUBLE avalanche wheelie race video! After reading so much good stuff about the avalanche and how beefy it is, i will be purchasing 2 of them some time tommorow. When it arrives ill tweak it and play with it a bit to set up for this wheelie buisness

Its going to be hard to make it wheelie. Its based off of a truggy and truggies are very hard to wheelie. You would need some real thick diff oil to do it. So far Im up to 80wt and still no go. It is a friggin rocket though.

maybe with larger wheels, smaller clutch bell and locked rear diff it may, but with small tires and low to the ground, it wont happen.

I hate to say it but it's starting to look like I would have to change my Avalanche so much to get it to wheelie that it's not worth it. I would love to buy a big array of diff oil but im a broke college student. It sounds like locking the diffs works but that sounds like it would be pretty rough on just about everyting. Is it? If not how do you do it? I have never even had my diffs opened up. I'm still not sure what diff oils I'm gunna order but I'm thinking maybe 3 for the front, 30-40 center, and like 10 rear. But anyway my main question is about locking the diffs. It sounds like this would be really hard on it.

secret, shhhhh..... put silly putty in the rear diff to lock it, you can always take it out if you want to unlock them. playdough would work too.

Ok the secret is out. Ehroff got it. I put silly puddy in the CENTER diff to send equal power to the front and rear. You can also put it int eh rear diff for more traction but just installing thicker fluid in the rear works fine. It will wheelie once the center diff is locked and thicker fluid in the rear. Even with the center diff locked it handles fine. You just dont want to go too thick in te rear or turning will suffer. Once I get video I will post. Just need to figure out how to post video. I have never done it before.

It should. Thats 9.6 volts. Is it brushless or stock? If stock I dont think it will handle 9.6v.
