Status: offline 		I recently built the Top Flite Piper Arrow II gold edition kit with Robart pneumatic retracts as recommended.

Although it is marvelous and steady in flight and landings (6,6 kgs) with very little crosswind I am facing problems with take-offs!

Particularly the plane sometime becomes dangerously unstable durring take-off taxing. Among 10 take-offs I faced this problem already 3 times and by luck the last minute I managed to make it airborne before hitting it out of the runway. It was a terrible experience. I have checked everything such as:

- all three gears are alligned and facing straight forward.
- nose gear is alligned with rudder.
- at low speeds the plane rolls straight
- CG is were it should be and a little forward.
- engine is OS FS-120 Surpass E and prop is 16x6
- wheels are Dubro all rubber at the recommended by the manual sizes
- retrats are the recommended by the manual Robart tricycle set
- the plane in flight needed no triming at all

My concern now is towards nose gear end point travel. What is the maximum travel from neutral (zero point) point for the outside of the nose wheel towards right and left?

When ready for take-off should I hold down elevator at the begining or not? what is the best take-off technique?

Status: offline 		Re: elevator on take off. I like to hold up elevator until the plane builds up a fair amount of speed. You don't want to actually take off with up elevator, but while taxiing it keeps weight off the nose wheel and helps keep it from digging in.

Can't help with your other questions--still working on my Arrow II.
