Man I cant wait to try. Sounds like you guys got it figured out. I want to try but since I'm new I dont want to lose a day of bashing incase I mess something up. Good job guys and hopefully soon I'll have the balls to try...

well.....turns out my ingenious idea was a crappy one....now, there's nothing to push against to get the friggin thing out of the plastic diff cup, I'm gonna probably end up having to break it to get it out.....gonna try putting it in the freezer for an hour then dropping it into boiling water and then shoving like mad to get it to come free....it's just too tight if I let it heat up in the oven...

that didn't work either....but, I found my old failsafe which always works....

dremel + cutoff tool = not stuck anymore

got it out, shaved it a bit with the sander bit, have it so it slides in and out of a diff cup when lightly greased with a light push from the screwdriver through the shaft opening (may have to shave it a bit more I think to get it out of the alloy cups after I'm done using the locker)

and....now it's in....and runs like a pro....and I had to go buy a whole diff to replace this one....because it was too tight of a fit to ever get it back out (I cussed a LOT when I realized that, should have just put the stock 2 spiders back into a plastic case and filled it with JB Weld, instead I pulled the 4 bevel out of my alloy case and dropped the jbweld locker in and it's in permanently, even with it shaved WAY down, it won't be coming out....)

full test will come in a few hours.....will let ya'll know how it works out....

I got the JB Weld (Quick Set Variety) and bits to cut it tonight....what'd you do to the diff cup before you put the JB Weld in to prep it so it'd come back out?

Just smear some JB Weld on the spider and side gears (inside the differential case) to lock them up. No need to go any further really.

yeah, see, I didn't want to ruin a set of gears or whatnot, but, I ended up pooching the diff anyway.....stupid thing....didn't shave the thing down far enough......ordered an aluminum locker that'll come back out to put in the front incase I decide I need to lock it up during the snows.....

thanks.
the first video would have been better.
did a jump off the snow bank and landed just before the truck. went under the truck and off the curb.
funny how the bump off the curb jarred the camera enough to screw up the video. i couldn't download it past 70%.

anyways.
the camera is an old hp 435.
pics and the mounting. used the tripod mounting hole plus a zip-tie.
