That's the way I did it also. Used a 16 oz tank and have plenty of flight time.

Status: offline 		Here are a few pics of my edge construction.
I had mistakingly cut the main spar and repaired it by gluing in two carbon sticks as sugegsted by Walter. Seems to be super strong.

Status: offline 		I notice with the DA50 that the carb is only approx 1/4" from the firewall. Do you remember if you cut a hole in the firewall for airflow to the carb?

Status: offline 		i just set mine up, stock stand off's da50. i think it's a little more than 1/4" +little more if you offset for right thrust. i'm not cutting any holes yet unless it doesn't run right. the venturi of the carb is small, I think it will be fine...

Yes I did. I mentioned this in one of the other threads. I cut a hole in the firewall so the carb would breath better. Plus on the DA I think you actually need the clearance for teh choke valve to clear.

I have finished one wing pannel and started the other, I have had a few issues with the balsa wood in this kit and had to purchase some from local hobbyshop. Other than that everything seems to be going fairly well.

Status: offline 		If its anything like my kit the largest majority balsa in it was warped, even the 3/4 trailing stock was warped so bad that i had to soak it with water and pin it to my building board and let it dry. The wood for the sheeting was pretty bad too, when i unpackeged it, it was like snipping a band off a pallet of wet 2X4's the sheets just buckled and bowed like crazy.

Status: offline 		Guys, sorry for the hassle with bad wood but with any of our products we will replace defective parts if you contact us at the time. I try to make sure the wood is sealed in plastic bags to keep the elements like humidity out but sometimes...obviously the wood is still bad. When we package the kits we make sure all the wood is straight but I know if a wood board has internal stresses that have not "relaxed" yet from the mill then it will warp on its own over time. We've all seen the twisted and warped boards at places like Lowes and Home Depot! Balsawood is no different. Anyway, the Hybrids look great. Craig, your building room looks really tight there! Did you get stuck in the loft! The pic looks kinda funny with the tiny door in the background....lol

i'm building my 2nd wing and looking at craig's wing, i haven't sheeted the top of the servo bay only the bottom.
is there any need to sheet both the sides? i'm also using one servo per wing but i'm using the bay just after the wing tube finishes.... is that ok..... thanks

Status: offline 		Great question! If you are building stock with two servos per wing then you only sheet the bottom side where the servo mounts. If you opt for the single servo in the middle of the wing then I would recommend sheeting both top and bottom. Reason is now you are concentrating all the servo power into one bay versus two bays. Even though we now have servos way stronger than 5 years ago, you still need to make sure the surrounding structure can manage that load. Hope this helps.
