Here are some pictures of my plane all finished up. I did not have a chance to fly it yet. The all up weight is 16lb 10oz. ballanced between 7 5/8 and 8". All left to do is take it out now and fly it. looks like too much wind tomorrow maybe next weekend.

Looks much better now Criag. We too had tremendous winds this weekend! Today we had 40 mph + gusts.

Mike....am finishing up mine now....don't see anyone using flying wires on the tail surfaces ?? do we need flying wires back there ??

Also...what's the record on weight (lowest weight)...i will be under 15lb for sure....and still using stock tube and gear...

gained a total of 9.4 oz with covering (combination of monokote and micro lite covering)

if anyone is interested in weights of component parts, i have everything documented (covered and uncovered)

outssider........ i'm very interested in weight. i want to know how my frame compares to yours.
could you please give me the weight for wings with covering, stabs and elevator with covering, rudder with covering and the body without covering.
no gear and no wing tube. i don't know if this is too much trouble so, only give me the weight if possible.

also, what equipment are you using to get your total weight at 15lb?
i'm thinking of DA50 with stock muffler, 2 5955 on wings, 2 5945 on elevators, 1 5955 on rudder and most likely 3 nimh 6v batteries.

thanks

this is what i came up with.

stab + elevator covered - 10 3/4 oz
wing L covered - 1lb 11 5/8 oz
wing R covered - 1lb 11 1/2 oz
rudder covered - 2 3/4 oz
body not covered - 2lb 6 1/8 oz

total is something like 6.7lb so far.

Wow that is impressive TikTok!

To answer your questions though I have never seen flywires on the tail of the Hybrid. Should not need them unless you are worried about how light the parts are.

here are weights....weight on covered parts are without servos or linkages...in other words, right after covering.
i do not have weight of stab after covering and fuselage after covering because i glued them together and forgot but do have their combined weight after assembly.

first number is before and second number is after covering in oz.

hatch 4.1 , 4.5 (some microlite covering)
stab 5, none ( all monokote)
L elevator 1.2, 1.4 (microlite covering)
R elevator 1.4, 1.6 (microlite covering)
Rudder 2.6, 2.9 (microlite covering and slightly oversized)
R ail 6.6, 7.4
L ail 6.6, 7.4
fuselage (no hatch) 2 lb 5oz (no stab), 2 lb 13 oz (with covered stab attached, no hatch) (almost all monokote)
R wing (no aileron) 1 lb 2.2oz, 1lb 4oz (some microlite covering)
L wing (no aileron) 1 lb 2.8 oz, 1 lb 4.7 oz (some microlite covering)
gear 12.9 oz, 10.6 oz (lightened) (can get carbon fiber that weights 7.4 oz)
wing tube 6.4 stock (could save 2 oz with carbon fiber)

I was so careful about keeping the back end light i think i may be a bit nose heavy ! will need to move the rx battery rearward...still waiting on one more servo....pictures to follow soon !!

ps....if i knew i could get the back end so light, i would have put the rudder servo in the rear

Oh man CWhite, that is a great looking Hybrid. That's the Greg Poe scheme too and the same one we got modeled in the AeroflyPro simulator. Tons of fun!
