If pull pull cables are crossed then you will still require an offset servo arm if you want the cables to stay tight all the way through the motion. In all reality it doesn't matter if the cables go a bit slack.

Edit: Also, it's hard to tell in the pictures but it looks like the servo may be mounted a bit too high to obtain "perfect" geometry. If the rudder horn measures up say 1" from the bottom of the fuse, then you want your servo arm mounted at the same height.
I believe my servo is mounted almost against the bottom of the fuse.

I wouldn't orry about it. It will fly just fine provided they are tight at neutral.

Crossing the cables or not does not make that much difference. If you really want to get technical when you cross the cables you reduce the distance the control horn offset is on the servo arm and rudder horn. That is the distance from the clevis pivot point to the servo arm pivot point. But only by a fraction. Good nes is you end up with the same result on the rudder horn as well. This is assuming you started with the same geometry on both ends.

Outssider. You lost your hybrid too? Great. We all built at the same time. I hope it's not an omen. LOL.

yes, the way it went in, i figured it was going to be in more pieces than when i started the build. It must have hit in some real nice soft dirt and weeds cause i was able to save most everything except the rudder and the fuselage. i used pined hinges on the elevators so was able to remove the cotter pin in the hinges and save the stab and elevators. mike set me up with the parts to do another fuselage. I used 1 single 2600mah battery. On the 5th flight of the day (without recharging) i had the above problem develop trying to do a waterfall. (i never did get it to waterfall by the way, was trying all day too!...couldn't get it to do a inverted flat-spin either.... ...but man can it hover and torque-roll)

How high are everyone's control horns on the ailerons as measured from the hinge line? Right now, I have 1.25" horns on the servo and I adjusted the aileron horn to 1.25" as well. I don't get full deflection but it is close. Maybe about 40 degrees of travel in either direction. Is that good enough or should I do some adjusting. Big problem is the aileron horn bumping the bottom of the wing if I screw it down any more. Thanks. (Almost done!)

Well I had the chance to maiden today. All I can say is WOW. This thing is freakin awesome. First, I have to pat myself on the back as it required no trimming. It was just a bit windy but it seemed to track well. Landing was a hoot. No S**t it took me 3 trys to get her down. It just floats. Finally on my 3rd attempt i decided that I better force it down before I ran out of gas. I finally got her about 4' off the runway. I was just 2-3 clicks above idle and it just stopped. There I am 4' from the ground and my plane is not moving. I have never seen anything like that before. I can't wait to get a few tanks through the DA so I can really crank it up. Grat job OMP.

Glad to hear your first flight was a success. It just gets better from here. I had mine hovering on the second flight, but my engine was already broken in. I will be starting my second hybrid tonight.

Fantastic guys! Now make sure them batteries, switches, etc. are all in great shape. We don't want any more Hybrid crashes! Hey Crash, what is really cool is doing a zero ground speed landing when you have a little headwind. The Hybrid does these really nice.

alpapilot,
Nice covering job.

I am thinking of going with the same scheme. I may do a two tone fuse though since there is little to much white for my eye.

Did you paint the inside of the cowl?

I thought the same thing about the solid white fuse and have a few ideas on how to mix it up a bit. But, after getting the whole thing together last night I think I will stay put with it. The only thing I might add is a ProBro logo on the tail. I was never really big on the "chopped up" British flag. I'll upload some pics of the bottom later today. A lot of red there.

And yes, I did paint the inside of the cowl and fuse using fuel proof paint.

The full white fuse grows on you after a while. Great Job.
