Hi guys, the red bull air race world series finished up here in Perth, Western Australia this year and i was fortunate enough to go along and see it first hand, very very cool stuff. Trouble is I now HAVE to have an RC scale model of either an Edge 540T or an Extra 300S, I completely adore these planes.

I've been flying for about 6 months, i've had 2, 3-channel trainers and a 4 channel GWS formosa which i consider myself to be pretty capable with now, I haven't crashed in about 30 flights so i'm past beginner stage i think. I'm not into 3D but if the option is there, that's not an issue.

I'm after recommendations. I want a nice looking scale mode of the above planes (or similar i guess), ARF, about 1m wingspan or (40 inch), electric obviously, capable of smooth aerobatic flight (similar capabilities to the real thing) and around the $150 mark preferably - I'm struggling a bit to find something.

Thanks for your help

Andrew

They are fun to fly even if you don't want to do just 3D. Both almost identical in size. wingspan 40-41 inches. I have both and the 330s is almost complete just in time for our winter.

Very tempted by the E-flite 260, I'm in australia obviously so availability is a slight issue. I've definitely seen the E-flite in stores here and it looks nice, i'll look into it. The Electrifly looks great too. Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Thanks for the link doc, I saw that 3DHS didn't ship internationally which sucked, now i know where i can get them!

I'm thinking i might get the E-Flite Extra 260, it looks great, it's pretty cheap and it's readily available. Now i just need to save my pennys and psych myself up to go and buy it.

Cheers

Just my opinion... If you haven't already made up your mind, Extreme Flight makes both an Extra 300 and an Edge 540 in the 47" range.

Can't remark on the Edge but I have the Extra and it is absolutely one of the finest electric planes I've flown to date. Very sure the Edge is no different. The price is a little more than what you might have been looking for, but Chris has a great price on everything you would need in a combo package. It is definitely the way to go. Also, you can find Red Bull decals at Callie Graphics. Just tell her what you need, and she'll customize them.
