Greetings, All.

I've been watching your CX2 forum from the sidelines for the past few weeks and today I decided to sign up and begin to actively participate.

This is my first post...

In the pursuit of simplifying the post-crash, blade replacement procedure (removing the excess plastic from the stock rotor blade's flybar linkage ball, hoping I got it slick enough, putting it back together only to learn that I didn't get it slick enough and that my new best friend is determined to fly around and around "the great toilet bowl in the sky", etc., etc.), and in the interest of maintaining a more stable setup in general, I've decided to upgrade my new CX2 to use aftermarket blade grips instead of the stock E-Flite blades.

My question is this: Which blade grips should I buy? I've seen that there are several sources for aftermarket CX2 parts/hop-ups. Who do I go with?

(FWIW, I can tell you that I've had 2 bad experiences with Microheli products not fitting correctly. So as far as I'm concerned, they already have 2 strikes against them. Unless someone can give me a VERY good reason to reconsider, Microheli is very unlikely to win any more of my business.)

Here is some additional info that may help you to help me:

1.) While I really do enjoy working on/tweaking my CX2, I really do not enjoy "fiddle-farting" (I hope you'll all pardon the expression) around with parts that are marketed as being engineered to fit, but which in reality do not. I don't want to buy parts that are going to require me to "re-machine" them just to install them. (Microheli deja-vu for me). In other words, I enjoy doing MY work on MY heli. I hate doing the type of work that SHOULD have been done by the part manufacturer LONG BEFORE he ever took my order.

2.) I'm not interested in buying from a source that does not have a good track record when it comes to customer/technical support.

3.) I live in the US and REALLY prefer the convenience/speed of dealing with a US-based disributor (delivery times are much faster for me if supplier is US-based.)

Any/all help will be most appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,
Poochscrewer

Get the Xtreme grips from USHobbysupply.com . PM Micheal and he will set you up. They work great and he ships fast. JMO. And you can also check with Boomtownhobbies.com, they are great to, get the carbon fiber boom and unbreakable skids . Well worth the money and pay for themselves in the cost of broken parts.

From what I have read here The Xtreme blades and blade grips seem to be the way to go. I really like the fact that the most of the MH products are lighter than any other, but I guess that doesn't mean squat if they dont work. So I would go with Xtreme and take a small weight penalty.

Thanks, blk822. The first upgrade to my CX2 was a Microheli CF tailboom. I ordered it along with my heli and installed it before the maiden voyage, so I've never even seen my heli fly with the stock tail section.

But it's funny you mentioned the skids. It just so happens that I broke one for the first time this past Saturday and so I am in the market for a new pair. I'll be ordering the unbreakable's today/tomorrow.

Order the skids ASAP! If you don't, you will blow through tons of cash when you're learning. Also, be careful about MH upgrades. Not all of them are designed well for a CX2.
