OK, I'm going to try to post a few of Ron's pics. Q is right, it's a beautiful plane. Wish me luck!

No luck. Definitely something weird about these things. I have to go to work, but I'll try again tonight.

To answer yer question Ron, yes I kept all in "my pictures". Heres what I know...

My computer friend said that he had to do something with microsoft windows. He did this with the computer off-line.
Then he connected the camera to the comp. and downloaded the photos into "my pictures", still off-line.
He also un-installed the Kodak program, still off-line.

Scott, when I asked my friend why I couldn't post Rons photos off of my computer, he said they were "bmp" and needed to be re-sized to "jpg". He has not been here and I don't know how to do that. Try re-sizing the pictures smaller to jpg and see what happens.

Ron,,,What I think I know is that none of the photos you took with the "easy-share" are really ON/IN yer computer! I believe they are actually in a Kodak gallery on their website. If this is true, then inorder to not loose them, youd have to load them into "my pictures" BEFORE ya pull the plug on Kodak. This is really a shame as the camera is wonderful. Kodak wants to sell you yer own photos.
Check yer PM, I'm gonna send you one. Q.

Q-

I saved them as JPGs and confirmed that they were on my hard drive in My Pictures. When I went to upload them, I got an error message. I'll try again tonight when I'm back at my home computer.

I saw the photos of your Waco. I have the 1/6 scale one in the box. I bought it last summer. I also ordered the plans for the SRE from MAN. I am #57 in the brotherhood. I wish my YMF was as far along as yours. I have a Wills Hobby zero to get done, and a Global P61
next in line, then I want to start on one of the Wacos. Can't decide which one I want to do first. The dang job really cuts into my building time.

Hope you have some luck getting those photos posted.
Thanks for trying
Ron

Ron-

Well, mine was built when I started. It had some internal damage, so I had to recover and I am repowering it and putting on a new cowl. My progress has been very slow.

Here's another try on a photo. I'm not optimistic.

Q,

I transfered the photos from Kodak to my pictures, and from my pictures I was able to upload them. When you click on upload images there is a browse icon, click on it and it will let you go to your files. When you find the file you are looking for you will need to open it and that is what uploads it. It does take a few minutes, so be patient.

Now for the bad news, my Pheaton went away. I did put the skis on it, and on the first flight I managed to hit a moble home that is parked on the far side of our field. I had my gloves on and one of my friends was talking to me and I took my eyes oof of the plane. I must have bumoed my trim lever, because the plane dived right into the side of the trailer. Now for the good news, I brought it into the shop wirh the intention of taking the radio and engine out and throwing it away. But, as I got to looking at it, it didn't look quite as bad as I thought. I have it almost ready to fly again. I will try to be a little more carefill next time.

The cowl is from Fiberglass Specialties, it is six inches in diameter.

Ron,,,,Chuck Cunningham (RCM) taught me to fly. He didn't know it, but he did. (I later met and flew with the man. He lived near me and helped me get my Phaeton dialed.) He said in one of his articles to take a large trash bag, (for takin all the broken parts home with) and a big screwdriver (for diggin the engine outa the ground) along to the flying field. That made sence to me while I was trying to learn to fly via RCM and his articles.
I did this, and still do!

NEVER leave a bit of a crashed plane! Take it ALL with ya. Once yer home and settled-down, it will never be as bad as ya thought, and as ya found out, may fly again. Happy that beautiful plane will be fine.

Mines been on hold lately, but will be better than ever I hope.

I got my Dad back into flying in the 70's and the first bipe kit I bought him was the Phaeton, he liked it so much he built 3 of them, one to replace the other. He tends to try and tear up the sky. At 86 his favorite to fly is the Aeromaster. He's got half a dozen other bipes in the hanger that can come out with the proper level of pre-flight. I think the Phaeton hooked him on bipes and I have to say I love the way they fly. At his age it's fun to see him pull that Aerobastard out and toss it around. There are lots of planes out there that are fun to fly, but bipes fly like real planes and old farts like me & my Old Man enjoy that more than anything, except building.

Q

Got mine ready to fly again. Lost my wing struts, may have left them up at the field, couldn't find them when I went to re cg it. I made some new ones out of plywood, I think they look a lot better. If I can get them painted and the snow holds up, I might get a chance to try and fly it this weekend. Wish me luck, I'll probably need it.

You guys have a great New Year, and I'll catch ya later.

Q,
Wow, a few years ago, I picked up the same kind of plane from a guy that was getting out of RC. The plane is about 80% complete, only need to mount servos, push rods, etc., and cover the F and Tail group. The wings are already covered and seem to be well done. It has just been setting in my Hobby room, getting in the way when I work on other kits, NOW after reading your story, I believe I should complete the plane and fly it. I'll use a NIB old fox .60 for power. The plans from the kit came with the plane, so I should be able to figure out how to finish and balance it.

Does anyone have any suggestions or cautions concerning this plane, now is the time for me to find out about any suggested changes.

Q small world, though I live in Bakersfield CA, I have 2.4 acres in Golden Valley AZ. The property has been in the family for 40+ years or so, and now it looks as though it may finally be worth something, time will tell, and I am in no hurry to unload it.

Thanks for your story.

Ralph

Smaller than a guy would think sometimes Ralph! I met a (highly respected and well known on thease forums ) guy last year that flew at the same German airfield I flew at in about 1977 or 78, had some of the same German friends, and he lives in Kingman! Also met a guy on this forum that flys at the same field in N.Calif. that I used to fly at in about 1982 or 83.

Ya oughta have the land appraised as it could be worth alot more than ya think! Lotsa folks from Calif. movin in around here last few years.

I'd love to help ya on the plane, but its been about 25+ years since I built mine and can't remember alot of the details. Don't remember any issues in building it t
