Status: online 		I did it afterwards, but its a bear to get the teeth of the blind nuts to cut through the carbon.

The plans need a CAD viewer to look at.

Search for FREE CAD Viewer and you should be able to find a free download to look at the plans.

Status: offline 		I wonder if it would work to install the blind nuts before laying in the carbon, by filling the threads with crisco,wax or some other greasy stuff so the threads would'nt get glued???

Status: online 		That would work fine Dave, and it would do a nice job of holding those blind nuts in place. It would just be odd installing them to a firewall thats not on the plane

Status: offline 		The issue I see is that you would loose the benefit of having the nuts pull against the CF inside the plane.

Dave, thats exactly what I do. I coat the bolt with some lite machine oil, screw it in all the way, do the glass work and just un-screw the bolts when the epoxy has cured. When its time to glass the exterior, just fill it with some candle wax,,, works like a champ every time

Status: offline 		I have seen some adds for some sort of plate installed on the back of the firewall inside, with the blind nuts in the plate. anyone used this method.

They use to come with the Neme Q Plus, not sure if they still do. They worked fine, and you can rip em out if you happen to crash and use them again.

Status: online 		Had to replace my OS planes, with birch stained balsa glassed au naturel , just for Albert. I know how much he likes that

Stain is drying now (doesn't take long in this dry weather). Glassed and ready for paint by the end of today.

I'll stick with Quality over Randy's Quantity

Status: online 		Dave you know what they say “if they look fast they probably are. Those fuses of yours are “brown baggers”.
Check out these just out of the mold all composite R-200s. They look fast.
You will be green with envy when you see this new R-200.

Nice looking fuse. I notice you have your split along the sides of the fuse, some others have theirs through the top and bottom, Ed Smith on the bottom of the side. What are the reasons for the differences. I am currently making a plug, to be molded and am curious about the logic for the different approaches.

Do you not use a wood firewall, or only CF, what is the value of Kevlar with the CF?

Rabbits have infested the garage, another fuse has appeared for glassing.

The brown baggers have a pretty good win percentage

Both planes have performed well up here in the NCPL.

I don't sell kits, but if your interested, check out www.supertrc.com they are for sale there.

Randy does sell some, but his backlog is usually pretty big.

Both are good planes.
