I'm getting back into this hobby after a 15 year break. I came across a 17-year old picture of one of my previous planes. Can someone help me remember the make and model of the kit in the attached picture. A quick scan of Tower Hobbies left me with no matching kit.

Thanks a lot,
Rick

That is a KAOS. See the above sticky for this great model.

Definitely a Kaos. That's a keeper of a plane. You'll be hard pressed to find a better flying plane than the Kaos.

Thanks guys. I had "Sportster" in my mind but knew that wasn't it from looking online. Unfortunately I sold the Kaos when I got out of the hobby 15 years ago. It was a Great Planes Kaos 40 kit. I see now that TH sells it as an ARF (yuck). It was a great plane. It's the only one that survived my few years of flying back then. I'm getting back into it now and am almost finished with a SIG Kadet Senior kit.

If you are into scratch building you can still buy the original plans on line from RCM's plans list. both KAOS Jr 40&60. Easy to build and the best flying sports model around.

If you liked the Kaos, get a Great Planes Ultra Sport

It has been reissued in Kit form (Both 40 and 60 size) and there are still a few left. It was built around the Kaos wing and IMHO it is an improvement of an already fantastic airplane!

it's a super kaos the original had an open nose then about 75 it was redone with a thicker wing for retracts and a more streamlined nose.
