Ok... i got an 800mw hong kong mini cam put in my cougar 2000. The video is great until i turn the engine on... I figured there must be a bunch of people out there with this prob. The pic gets really wavy and changes depending on my rpm. So... any ideas would be appreciated thanks

first, 800mw systems from hong kong are almost never 800mw, so be careful of expectation.

So to understand, picture is ok (no snow or interference), but content of picture is wavy? Or do you see wavy lines not part of picture?

Are you using separate battery pack?

Most all wavyness (wavy picture or wavy lines) are caused by vibration.

Remove all vibration from camera and most wavyness is solved. Some wavyness is electrical... is couger 2000 electric or gas plane.

Keep trying, you will figure it out!

Well... i guess ill have to work on the vibration a bit. The cougar 2000 is a gas fun fly. Im using a 9 volt batt. but was considering a 9.8v lithium pack to maybe boost up the power cause it does get out of range sometimes too. Well thanks for the help... ill let you know how it goes.

Is the camera pointed at the prop? if it is then that would be the problem, if not then vibration would the problem.

btw, if you use a battery of a higher voltage than recommended then the transmitter power might be outside the legal limit (I think so anyway, would someone tell me if I am wrong).

Using battery higher than recommended by device will likely shorten life, and perhaps destroy it.

Beware camera with 9v connector, sometimes they are actually to run on 5v. Seems crazy, but hong kong mfg don't know how we are conditioned to plug 9v battery to 9v connector! Check manual careful for proper voltage.

I see videos from other funflys, not much space in plane so transmitters crammed in wing, and vibration cause headache. I hope you can clear yours up.

Happy Flying,
David
