if you want to participate, simply make a video of your cx/cx2 in hands-off hover, including in the video moving the heli around with the tx, then setting the tx down, then picking it up again, and moving the heli around somemore

doesn't matter if your beast is modded to the hilt or not - as long as its a cx and it would be considered 'normal'

whoever has the longest hands-free hover on video shall be named the cx setup king and win some token award - a broken stock blade engraved with winners name date and time or something

break out the fine tooth comb and go over your setup, then go for it and post the video links here - we all get to vote and declare the winner

this contest is open-ended and anyone can enter - i got a video of about 3 seconds that i will post to start us off

Where is the video? Oh well I don't have a video camera but I can assure you that I already won.
Two and a half hours hovering on stock battery with no more than 0.5 mm of movement in any direction. Awesome. Can I have that broken blade trophy now?

cx2cp,

I think you should make more regulations rules, Like;
Entry due date.
Hovering boundaries (within maybe 3-4 feet) horizontal and vertical.
Time should start when the TX touches the floor.
Things like that.

I could also make a GOLDEN-CARBON-FIBER-SOLOBOSS-FLYBAR as a prize.

In all seriousness I think this is a great idea. It would definitely be fun to watch. I really don't have a camera, but I say anyone who does go for it!!!!

You can use your normal digital camera. They have simple movie modes on them.

nice, GOLDEN FLYBAR!

is that anything like Willy Wonka's Golden Ticket?

count me in...
what's the deadline for entry? Official rules...

seems like some might be taking the marionette route....

if that's the case I'll need sometime to rebuild my CX2, (AND/OR) read up on levitation...

David Copperfield, Criss Angel, and David Blaine ain't got nothing on my CX2!

ok, now - good serious clean fun - no cheating, wires, etc - no saying it is hands-off hover if you're in a gym and it goes from one end to the other, although a little tbe?

no deadlines, just an ongoing friendly little contest with no real bonus except bragging rights on rcu

we are all the judges, so that should keep y'all honest - the opinion of the judes is never final and we can gab about it for weeks

kino keeps crashing cause my video is in the middle of a 30-minute segment - way too long to edit - it wasn't but a few seconds long anyway - so, i'll have to shoot another one

if you have a digital camera, it can take movies - just make it a few seconds of motion proving the tx is moving the heli (no wires lol), then center it in the video and set the tx down (somewhere in the video), breathe a few times then pick up the tx and move the heli around again - editing should be easy to spot that way

be sure to burn off the first part of the battery to get in the stable zone

hover motion, to me at least, would be no more than, what, 1 feet over a minute, which would be 12 inches over 60 seconds or 1 inch over 5 seconds - certainly if it drifts out of the frame of the video then it wouldn't count as a hands-off hover

no editing of course - and a timer in the picture would be nice

i'll re-shoot mine today and put it up - if the sniffles i have this morning don't get any worse, i'll even turn off the heater and give it a good try
