I don't think I'd bend the battery. I'm going to fasten mine to the bottom of the frame with some small velcro straps. By the way the Xtreme blades are BadA@#$% blades. With the stock battery they shorten the flight time a little but the little beggers goes like a bat. They really do have a lot more lift than the stock blades, they are about 3/8" longer than the stock Lama 3/4 blades and the stock HM5 #10's but they work fine and are much more durable. be great to see how they do with the HiCap battery. If I ever get mine I'll post a photo of the mount.

Well I finally got the batteries from MaxAmps. I got the connectors soldered and the batteries wrapped. They allow about 10 mins of flight time as opposed to 7 mins with the stock battery. I got to fly two packs yesterday then the wind got to high for the little coax but there is a real improvement in flight time and power with the MaxAmp cells. I ended up putting Velcro on the inside of the skid mounts and on top of the cell. Works fine. The other thing I bought is a Great Planes Lipo 4 charger, there a little pricey but allow you to charge four cells at the same time. The charge rate is adjustable for each cell and it cuts the charge time to one hour. Look on the Great Planes Electrifly site. Great Charger!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, here are the photos with the SuperSkids, MaxAmp Battery and the Xtreme Blades.[image][/image] Next project is to reverse the frame rails and machine some spacers to widen the battery holder enough to allow the MaxAmp cell to mount in the battery holder. Oh yea, I found some 180 size motors from Xtreme, so that's after the spacer thing

My suggestion would be to get them from Mike, Jr. at Ka-planes. Their web site is ka-planes.com. They may be a bit higher than some of the others but their service is second to none.

Those look great, a little rich for my blood. The Xtreme blades are really tough and $ 4.00/set. Think I'll wait and see how hard it is for you to break th CF's before I invest that much money.

I received the blades today and wow they are beautiful.

But. . . . They won't work for the 5#10

This heli fits Lama v4 blades and CX2 blades so I figured your blades would fit too. Well they were too thick so I took one set and sanded them down to fit into the blade holders.

Well, the heli won't lift. Even with a fresh back and the throttle trim up all the way it just sits.

So I put back my Lama v4 blades and it lifted at 1/4 throttle.

Well now I'm sitting on one set that I altered so I know the seller won't refund that set but the other set I hope he does except back for a refund. Oh well it was worth the try.

helikiller,

the blades in question are these: http://www.jutstar.com/sf/xrbblades.htm

Remember you said they are too rich for your blood right now.

The guy said I can return the second set. But I am at a crossroad here, I can (A) sell off the set I sanded and try to make some of my money back or (B) cut them down and try them on my brushless 5#6.

hummmmmmm

Butters, sorry I thought you were saying the Xtreme blades didn't fit. I guess you were refering to the CF blades you posted.

Hello, I am new to the forum but thought someone would be interested in knowing that I was able to modify the Walkera 5#10 so I can fly it with the DX7 using the 4in1 for the E-Flite Blade CX2 (EFLH1024 60USD) and 2S batteries, the helicopter became even easier to fly and got better response , more cyclic and throtle response. It handles much better than before on slightly windy conditions.

BTW, I love this bird, I also own a Lama 5 (Colco) and a Lama 4 (E-Sky), and I must say that although they are very good machines, none can be compared to the 5#10, this baby its truly amazing, smooth, robust and stable. First I was skeptical because Walkera dos not have good reputation, but when I got my 5#10 I could see that this little bird was different. Awesome machine. Ok, enough of that.

I have a Spektrum DX7 radio (and some big birds and wanted to be able to use it with my 5#10 so I did some research and got it working.
Those who know what the DX7 is, also know what the advantages are using this radio, but here I will give you some Idea why you could consider buying one.

The DX7 is a 7 channel transmitter from a maker called Spektrum, it uses DSM2 2.4Ghz technology that eliminates possible interferences or conflicts of frequencies, has larger range and uses an small antenna. The DX7 is usually one of the pro's favorite. It is a fully computerized radio that allows you to have several programs for different machines (helicopters, planes, ect) this means that you can use the same radio with many helis. The DX7 is fully digital, so the trims and adjustments are very precise and programmable. You can program the response curve of the control sticks to your likes or level of experience. You can create mixing programs that will simplify your flying experience. For example you could create a mixing program that would automatically increase or decrease throttle according to your cyclic input (roll left, right, back or forward) this avoids your helicopter loosing thrust and going down or up when you apply cyclic. (this is just an example of a possible mix).
These are just a very few possible benefits of the DX7, I could not mention all the bene
