I've got everything set in the chassis where I want it now, the last thing I need to buy for it is a suitable motor pinion.  How do I work out how many teeth I should be running?  I have a 3030kV motor (roughly 13 turn), 5000maH 2S LiPo.  Please can someone help?

I have the stock spur gear and a 24t pinion on mine with a 3400kv motor. Seems like a good setup so far.

Lots of parts here. You can do a google search too.

Have you ordered parts from them? Any issues? I need a new linkage set...changed out the servo and went to readjust the linkages, then discovered the previous owner used red loctite on the set screws. This is the only place I could find a new set. I already ordered just curious if they have worked out for you.

Edit: Well, I should say I almost ordered it. Had it in my cart but $10 shipping on a $15 part made me change my mind. LHS is going to check and see if they can order it for me.

Definitely a Blizzard; although the Unimog body isn't original I don't think.  If you show us what the transmission is under the shell we'll have a better idea...

Single motor electric.  The unimog body is pretty cool either way. I just bought it today from a member on another forum so i dont have it in my hands yet.  The pic posted is one he sent me.  Here's one with the body off.

that is the ev model, runs on a basic 540 motor. throw a 21 turn in it and it'll be a blast or a brushless setup would be better...

Happen to know roughly the year this was made?  Im guessing its one of the earlier ones right?

He's shipping it to me with a Losi ESC good down to 12 turns and a 15 turn HPI motor.  I have a feeling the 15 turn motor will be to much for it though.  I have a few vintage trinity monster horsepower motors (1985 and 1987) i may throw one of them in it.

Would you say $160 was a good price for it?  Comes as you see it with a steering servo, Losi ESC good down to 12 turns and has reverse, HPI 15 turn motor.

160 is not a bad price as long as your esc and motor work.

It may be much, much later than the 80's; only with the newest Blizzard SR have they gone back to the twin motor system.  I bought my Nitro Blizzard in 2004/2005 and the electric version (Blizzard EV) that I've just converted it to was available at the same time.  They then released the GP (nitro) & EP (electric) DF300 Ohara Corp. versions which had a more updated bodyshell (but I don't think any mechanical changes); according to the Kyosho website they were released in March 2006, so yours could be much newer than you think...

I just got a Blizzard SR and I love it!

What can I do with the unused 4th channel?

Will it run lights?

Thanks.....WE do have the price a little high...as we know it will be expensive to ship them. The last Heavy metal NIB did 1000 on EBAY..this one is nicer...

And we haven't seen a DX for sale in 2 years....

Appreciate the comments...

Could be a stripped spur gear, bad gear-mesh, snapped or loose drive chains, stripped drive sprockets (that the chains run around), or like you say; a blown diff.  Unless you strip it down, impossible to say for certain...

On that topic...

I can't find the fzw-18 steel differential anywhere.

I can find the regular replacement parts only.

I'm running a 3s lipo and 7000kv motor! overkill

Any links to aftermarket parts?

cheers

Went out again today, got the burned up motor replaced, and chased the rock crawler around in the snow for about an hour.  This thing can move in the snow!  Stock motors and it could get up and go!
