What motor are you brushed guys running?  Im running a Trinity Midnight motor in mine.  Took it out today for the first time since i have owned it and while it ran great and powered through the snow with no problem, it's a lot slower than i expected it to be.

I bought mine used over the summer and this is the first time im running it after putting it all together.  The Midnight motor is a better and faster motor than a silvercan.  Its pretty slow now, the silvercan must be terrible lol.  I have probably 10-12 silvercans laying around.  They make great paper weights.

Yea i mean i dont want the thing to fly but i have run Midnight motors before and expected more out of it.  They arent the best motors in the world but they arent bad either.  I have a 15 turn HPI fireball motor.  Maybe that will make its way into it eventually. Just dont want to blow it up.

I forgot about this thread/rcu in general.
After many years of wanting one, I bought 2...

A NIB nitro with an extra engine with a few spare parts...
took me 6hrs to put it together. Someone had a little to much saki when designing this.

And a used Blizzard DX...

It has a 540 motor 'conversion' using monster HP motors(1 normal 1 reverse)
The wheels are yellowed, and the tracks are starting to split, but everything is there.
IDK what I want to do with it, I don't need 2 blizzards. I may turn it into a 'heavy metal' and put it on the shelf...

I know I shouldn't but I've been playing with it the past few days. I swapped the main MSC for an ESC and I'm using a 2s lipo. Plenty fast...

Looks good! How does the steering work on the DX? Looks like it has 2 MSC to control the motors? Is each motor responsible to drive each track?

The MSC on the left drives both motors. The one on the right cuts power to one of the motors.

I have the main MSC swapped for a cheap ESC. MSCs don't like lipos

1 side of both motors is hooked to the MSC on the left. The one on the right can send power to both motors or just one.

Think STDP switch, but variable.

If anyone knows where I can get springs for the DX suspension, LMK.

After 30 years the stock ones are a little soft...

Anybody know what a fair price would be for a df-300 with no speed control or motor?

Used? Maybe $150-200, since it is not common...

Nice!   High speed attack tank!

We have plenty of snow around here...   I've been pushing it with my SR.

No problem...   I took the blade off to see how it runs and had some fun high marking hills at the local BMX track.   We just got 5 inches of new snow on top of the existing snow pack so it was a good day to run.

Inside I added a plastic block to limit the blade downward movement, it's the white thing in front of the motors.  On top of the dust cover is the board for the rotating beacon lights and the running lights.

Other than that it is all stock.  I did cut a vent and added a grill where the stock body only has a sticker of a engine vent.

Interesting that Kyosho went back to the dual motor design. It comes w/ its own special ESC, I guess? (To handle the mixing of 2 motors in order to steer) Can it do one track forward and one track backward? (since it is driven by 2 independent motors)

It has two seperate ESC, one for each motor.  It drives like a skid-steer, two sticks forward to go.  Each track can go forward or reverse so it will spin in place.

I see.. so you can only do it with a dual-stick style radio then... ! Thanks for the info!

Is that a Tamiya tank or other brand?

It's a Tamiya, Leopard 2A6, a very nice kit.  I had fun building it.

I have Heng Long tanks too.
