change the bearings in the diff for ball races and then proceeded to put the diff back into the blizzard the wrong way around so it ran backwards, so all I did was swap the motor wires around and now it runs fowards when I push the stick forward So be careful when you change the bearings in the diff MAKE sure that you put it back in the same way round as it came out
never mind what a clutz I am

if you turn the diff over it will run backwards even though the motor input shaft is the turning the same way I don't know why they do this and quite frankly I don't care, so I took it out again and turned it over and then put it back in the right way around so it now runs in the correct direction. I am still waiting for the rest of the bearings for the wheels on the blizzard.
I saw a program on the TV a couple of years ago called scrapheap challenge and the participants had to build a dragster from scrap parts one team broke the gear box and someone came up with the idea of turning the diff over so that it ran in reverse. and they managed to win that episode by running the dragster in reverse gear ( they could not get any forward gears from the gear box)

I am going to replace the plastic belly plate with some 2mm aluminium plate and add a diff guard at the front to protect the diff from getting bashed on any rocks or stones on the beach in Cornwall

The plastic may actually be betta ... alum tends to grab rocks

I have a RC 4WD rally car (electric) and I put a Aluminium skid plate on the back end to prevent the plastic chassis at the rear being worn away by the car grounding out. I had no problems with control or speed of the car, the Aluminium plate had little or no effect on the speed of the car.

Got everything rounded up for lights. I will hull mount like you. Too much of a pain in the body.

cool, have fun working out how to fit them. what sort of lights did you get.
Shouldn't be too hard. I just went with 2 head, 2 fog and T lites
that's what I started with now I have added four spot lights to the front on a bracket so that the spots are in front of the cab and I am thinking of adding some more spots to the roof of the cab after I have blacked out the cab windows. ( this is to hide the wires battery, control box, switch and wiring )

Nice pics !! I really like the lights that you have on your blizzard.. I have a question for you. Do you have full bearings in your blizzard and if so can you tell a difference in the performance over the stock set up.
