Yours has a completely different setup... the brakes on the newer Blizzards are used to slow down / stop the driveshaft on each side of the differential to create the steering effect.. take a look at the build thread and you will see what I meant!

Well, I'm ready to light up the night. Pics don't show too good, but they are bright. Headlites, foglights, tail, emergency and spot. Can't say I'm ready for cold and snow tho.

I hear you! Ever thought about just using the BEC to power the lights? Then you don't need the 9V battery there.. or it is too low? Or maybe just use the 7.2V directly.. that should be enough to power up the LEDs if it needs the voltage, right?!

Just been giving my blizzard a service
thus far, an oil change in the diff removed the diff and cleaned the grease out of it and put some 1,000 high viscosity silicone diff oil in the centre and silicone grease on the spur gear to try and keep the oil in the centre where the bevel gears are.
new brake pads from gasket material
general wash and brush up
recharged the running lights batteries
took all of the ball races out of the wheels and soaked them in a thick oil (warmed up to make it penetrate better) to make sure that they are lubed and water tight
I use the 7.2v running batteries on my tanks so the are cycled all of the time

You need to "build" it up, Lee!!

I ended up taking almost everything apart anyway... so it was kind of a build thread.. ha!!
