Because i have been flying the Mojo and having a blast. I have decided to save the Yak for when i can most likely 3-d it without crashing. Also i have just about completed a second Mojo for my son. Also i want to build me another one and i am thinking about ordering the .60 size.

Back in the summer, I spent $600.00 for an Ultra RC Yak, 50cc. I spent over that same amount for a DA-50. Hundred dollar servos all around. I still haven't flown it. I got and built a Mojo and now i want a whole passel of them. I haven't had this much fun flying r/c since i started in this hobby years ago. 72 bucks for a kit, $40 for a .46 two stroke, two rolls of covering bought at A SWAP MEET FOR $5 a roll, 4 servos and flight equipment for $99. $225 and i am flying a Mojo and having more fun that with a two grand plane. Bigger is not neccessarily better.

I'm with you Jug. I got a Twist a couple months ago and can't put it down. When I finally do it in, I'm going for the Mojo. The Twist has taught me what high alpha flight is all about and I can't get enough. For some size matters. I love the challange of going smaller. I have planes down to a 16 inch span.

Why didn't the Airhogs I bought a year ago.
That's an easy one. It would be culture shock for a new Airhogs owner. It would be like a new BB gun owner looking over a Marine Corp field manual to learn how to play with his gun. The last thing Airhogs wants to do is to scare their own customers away by making them think they have to go to a full sized AMA field to learn how to fly. As soon as they get there they will get crap just for showing up. 58 dollars ... no way. Airhogs cares about Airhogs and whatever they are doing, they are doing right, they are HUGE now. Would surprise me to learn that Airhogs did more in revs this year that Tower Hobbies (about 500 million).

At least with the PF program you have a greater chance of capturing that group of people by at least 1/2. Maybe Airhogs will consider it, or maybe they won't. But they will certainly be more welcome at an AMA Parkflyer field well before they will an AMA regular field that's for sure. Or they will at least have a stepping stone to the top level.

Dion,

I'm willing to bet it does not happen. I think that you won't see any significant increases in the AMA enrollment by this time next year.

Well in all honestly, I make my son treat his BB gun and even his toy guns as if they are the real thing. Good habits can never be started too soon. I do invision an organization that can help anyone be successful and safe in the hobby reguardless of investment. Maybe that is nieve.

With all do respect, the owner(s) of Airhogs children is now thier company. Of course good habits should be started sooner then later, but instead of the AMA waiting for Airhogs to make the first move, the AMA went ahead and took the initiative on thier own.

Bill I'll take that bet! I love bets. You like profile planes? How about a Katana V2 or Extra 260 profile. What you got? Cash is king too. Problem is we have to wait over a year or two. Will we still be friends then?

I like Cash... Johnny used to be my Neighbor, Back in Tennessee..... I like the green kind too. I have a profile, it's a Fazer with a Webra. Don't want to add to my collection of profiles though, how about a nice scale model that you built yourself, Let's say a Biplane with a minimum of 70" wingspan. Accurate scale too. You in there Dion? Like I said, has to be one that you have built yourself.

What is a significant increase? 25%? 30? 20? What is it Dion?

ok now, lets just get the terms you two are considering settled.

Are we talking AMA Membership of the OPEN + FAMILY + PF Tier will increase by 20%?

We will obviously just add the Open + Family for 2007 numbers,
and compare that to Open + Family + Pf Tier for 2008 numbers.
Stick is betting there will not be a 20.000% or more increase, STL bets there will.

What this doen not address is the accounting for 2007 Open Members signing up for PF Tier.
Does this mean we will have to wait until Jan 2009, when we will see how many 2007 Opens, that already renewed for Open 2008, drop down to PF Tier at the soones they can (renew PF Tier 2009 mid/late 08)?

How would you two like to address that in your wager, the Downgrade folks raising PF Tier numbers.
Also, lets get you guys to agree on How & When you will get your member counts.

What modifications/ corrections would you two like to put on proposal of your wager, before you guys endorse it & set the bet compensation.

You need to keep your nose out of it. This one is between Dion and myself.

Good thing you made that clear to the thread before a bunch of others got involved too, now we wont have to worry about anyone else talking about your private chat.
My mistake, with the whole Not Using PM for private conversations and all.

You did know that, right,
that if you have a message that is private, you could send a Private Message rather than post to a global bulitin board what you now deem private.

No problemo,
you go ahead & use the public thread for your private chat,
I'm not gonna rat you out to the mods, so do whatever you want.

As long as we are using this thraed for private chats,

Hey LCS,
You wanna meet for lunch some weekend in Jan to talk about the costs of the PF Tier?
My father bought a new truck & is talking about selling me his old one.
I hope I get some cool presents for christmas.
Talk to you soon,
Ken

So like Stick, I want the rest of you too keep out of me & LCS' private exchange here
(which is on topic since it is about guessing the PF Tier Cost, as eveidant in the first line of my talk to LCS)

ok RCKen,
I made my point & am done.

Meanwhile, back at the Guessing PF costs...

Have we gotten any firm commitment as to whether the PF'ers will get same insurance or sub-insurance yet? Cause that would greatly affect my estimate of what it may cost.

I'd like to modify my guess,
$19 for Substandard Insurance
$39 with standard AMA insurance

is that ok guys, we can make tiered guesses for insurance, right?
