I just got a Thunder Tiger ST-1. It seems to be very nose-heavy when I jump. If I dont gas it hard, I nose dive in to the the next jump / ground. What can I chang so that it jumps with a good level flight? Or do I just have to adjust to it ( im used to a RC10GT).

Thanks

A 1/8 scale takes alot more throttle to get it to fly but they do fly very well. 1/8 and 1/10 is a totally different beast. Im used to racing a Jato adn just bought my st1 about a month ago. I had to change everything about my driving. Its not the truck its you that just needs to learn how they handle and what makes thm react.

Often it's your ramp itself. Also try letting off the gas right at the edge of the jump that usually makes it land leveled. I think it has alot to do with the rotational mass in the tires, if it had molded foams would jump perfectly all the time.

You could change the oil in the front shocks to a heavier weight. It will offer less "give" on the ramp surface, allowing the nose of the truck to stay more leveled. Balancing tires is a good idea too. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it helps A LOT. Jumping is more controllable, smoother, and there is no vibration on the starter box or in the air. Here's a link..

You can also increase the angle of your rear wing. That will help with the nose diving.

Stiffer rear springs will help with the nose-diving also.

Actually Annie_himself, I think that stiffer rear springs would increase the nose dive. If you think about the physics in the springs and the car taking off...anyway, when the car takes off, the front shocks are the first to get in the air, off the ramp. For a split second, the car is only on the two rear wheels. Since the rear shocks are stiffer, they want to extend quickly, so when they do this, they make the nose point down. Now if you had softer rear shocks, the uncoiling won't be as quick, and the nose won't point down. Anyway, getting back on topic, you can fix your nose down problem a number of ways, but the easiest would probably be to put an extra spacer or two on the front shocks. You can also increase the front shock oil weight.

Yea, you are right. I don't know what I was thinking.

thicker front shock oil and stay on the gas a bit longer off the jump.... that will solve your problems, you need to adjust to jumping a truggy.
