Hello folks my name is Harold and I am new here. I have a question about my 969 that seems to be false peaking. I am charging a basic Racer's Edge 3600mAh Battery Pack for my RC10T4 at 2.0 amps and 30mv. The charger will only charge for about three minutes and the shuts off saying stop as in charged but they only last a minute or two which tells me they are not charged. These packs are literally brand new as I just bought them today. This happened a few times before while charging my Elite 1500 2/3a 6 cell packs for my crawlers but it just stopped and went back to normal. The charger worked OK for a few charges and now it has started it again. Please help me. Thanks

Just so you know, this is probably just a symptom of the new batteries and not the charger. Brand new batteries do tend to false peak until they get a few good charges in them, especially NiMHs. The voltage hasn't stabilized and this tends to trip off the peak detection. Even when you get the 977, new batteries will do this. Keep an eye on the MAH screen on the charger and keep a running total on each charge. Keep restarting the charge when it false peaks until you get close to the MAH rating on the battery. Also, the battery will be warm to the touch when it's fully charged. Charge the battery at 3.6 amps for the first full charge. After that you can safely charge it at 5 amps on the 977. Let me know how it works out.

I'm having the same issues. Brand new 5000mah pack, brand new 960 and I can charge for about 30seconds to a minute...and I don't want to have to restart it every 30 seconds. Are there any other options or a fix in the works for this?

Thanks, Joe

This is tough on me too as I'm in Canada and bought it from an RC shop on the way up here...don't have a reciept and cant return it to the hobby shop I bought it from.
