Hey,
I got 5 flights on mine this weekend. Presents and feels like a 40%er. It's worth the wait, trust me.

Lee I see that you are running a DA-100. Can you give me a run down on your setup. Pipes, prop, servos (rudder especially) that kind of thing.

Thanks,
Clarke

My setup:

DA 100 with MTW TD75 (smaller cannisters)
50mm drop headers cut 1" shorter
28-10 Mejzlik
JR 921 2.4 rx with two remote rx's
8611a's on ailerons
1 8711 on rudder / 1 on each elevator
SWB 1.5 inch arms / 4" offset on rudder
Power Box 4024 Champion with 2 Power Box 2900 batteries
Duralite 4cell 2900 ignition with Digi Switch

More than enough power with the cannisters, ballistic with pipes. I guess it depends on your location, I'm at sea level. The single 8711 on the ruuder is plenty, pulls around knife edge loops with authority. The graphics are by Bad Brad Graphics, he has the plane on file so he can size everything perfect where ever you want the stickers.

Lee your plane looks awsome. Thanks for the info. I am around 700ft above sea level. I am going to be running mine on a DA-100 with ES Composite pipes and a Vess 28A. I will be using the same servo setup as you. I was wondering if 1 8711A was going to be enough on the rudder. Is there any way to mount the rudder servo in the back or do you feel that the pull-pull is the way to go?
I was thinking if there was a way and I needed the tail weight I would try and do a push-pull setup on the rudder with dual 8711A's.
One more thing. What kind of wheels and axles did you use?

Thanks for all the help,
Clarke

Chris, I see you lurking here. What's the news on the 110's?

Clark,
I can assure you that a single 8711 is more than enough for this. I have done a few knife edge loops and can't see any signs of blow back. I'm sure with some work you could tail mount the servo but it's really not needed. The cannisters should be heavier up front than the ES composite setup and I balanced mine with the power box and batteries just behind the rudder servos tray. My ignition battery is mounted to the side of the fuse right in front of the fuel tank. It flies perfect there. I'll post a picture of my installation later today.

Lee

Nice Airplane you got there Lee! I know you are going to enjoy the 110" EF Yak. Here's a vid of mine warming up and practicing some freestyle. With the alum spinner on, it set up for IMAC, with it off!.............it's a 3D Beast!

Love using the spinner for CG variation! I often fly with the spinner on and off when I go out, depending on what I want to do with the particular flight.

Looking good Rennie!

Container is due to ship any day. I was told Friday that the Yaks were being packaged and the container was being scheduled for pick up. As soon as I get confirmation that the container is on the ocean I will contact everyone on our waiting list and ask for order confirmation. Won't be long now!

Frank I am not the say all on this topic but I think that they posted some where in the thread that the plane is going to be $1049.99.
I haven't heard of anyone trying the 85 on one as of yet but the reports for the 85's on other planes are looking really good. Looks like an 85 on a pipe just might be the ticket.

Price is $1049.95. I am building one for the DA-85 and Grieves tuned pipe to display at Toledo and should have some flight reports shortly thereafter.
