Hey guys, Getting things wired up in the fuse. I will finish the entire fuse tonight including the rudder and mounting the cowl. I will post more pics tonight. Just wanted to post some pics of the cowl, canopy, and rudder mocked in place, to show the size of this beauty. I should have the plane ready for ground testing by Friday night![sm=thumbup.gif]

Delisa, one of my girls, wanted in on the action! Aloha!

What do you have between the RX921 and your Duralite unit?

Okay guys, I need a little input.

I am planning on running a 2500 4.8v NMH batt back on ignition, no switch or regulator, just the Smart-Fly cut-off switch. When I am done flying, I will just disconnect the mini Deans connector. I feel that this will get me through 5-6 flights, and a simple and light reliable set-up. My question is............

1) How many Flights can I get with a DA100 w/ a avg flight time 12 minutes?

2) Is there any difference between 4.8v and 6v?

3) any thoughts on my set-up?

Thanks!

I have a 2700 nimh at 4.8v on my DA100 (qq 102 yak), my flight times are 9-10 minutes and i estimate that after 6 flights i have about 950Mah in reserve (checked on a cycler), which makes about 300Mah per flight. Hope that helps?

W

I think they are ferrite rings

How is the performance on the QQ with the DA 100 ? Are you running stock pipes ?

You must looking at the ferrite magnetic rings, that come with the Power Box. I helps elimanate RFI going to the receiver.

Thanks Wavy, Thats the kind of info I am looking for. I too have a QQ Yak w/ a DA100. As much fun that plane is, it will become my back-up IMAC Plane.

Jake Ruddy -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (12/21/2007 3:46:43 PM)

Hey Rennie, How many remote receievers are you usng with the 921?

I have one of the way... have a bunch of reading to do on 2.4 :D

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (12/21/2007 4:03:04 PM)

Sinergy (what happened?)

Yeah Jake, I have two remote receivers, it will be like having 3-receivers in the fuselage!!!![sm=thumbup.gif] It like having back-up for back-up, redundant-redundant, shoot, it won't hurt to have a little more insurance!

Jake Ruddy -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (12/21/2007 4:29:06 PM)

Well all it took was a lockout the 2nd time at the field with a EF 74" Yak that I had sepnt a bunch of time doing a custom scheme on and I was done with PCM :)

I don't see the value in the higher end Futaba radios so I switched to a 9303 on 2.4 and will be done with it :D

martinarcher -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (12/21/2007 5:58:15 PM)

Throttle servo looks great! That's exactly what I had in mind. Better safe than sorry - gassers sure get hot.

Man that bird is huge! Makes your DA-100 look smaller than mine! [:D]

Do you really need them since you are using 2.4?

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (12/21/2007 10:39:10 PM)

Roger , The ferrite rings come that way. the leads are looped through them about 4 or 5 times, then end installed. If I you want to remove them, I guess you could cut off the end, unravel the wire then re-terminate the connectors, but why mess with something that works, the ferrite magnets are like ceramic low-grade magnets. They are light weight, and are another measure of insurance.

Was just checking as I went to 2.4 and was going to use a ring and was told that I did not need to.
If the unit comes with them, I say use them.

Thanks:

Following the build as I might get one too.
have H9 260 for now with MTW 75 cans, do you think the MTW Cans will work in the YAK?

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (12/21/2007 11:05:46 PM)

Roger, the tightest part of the tuned pipe tunnel is right above the landing gear. There is about 70mm of clearance there. So it depends on the diameter of the cans.

Josey Wales -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (12/21/2007 11:08:01 PM)

Rennie--why did you route the fuel lines out the side of the motor box ? Never saw that before so I didn't know if there was a reason you did it that way. Is it because of the pipes ?
