Thanks Ricardo! Yes, today was maiden day. 1st of all Ricardo if you have any more pics please post. My camera battery died [&o](so much for being prepared)[8|], anyway John from JP Media took some Hi-def vids, and I hope that he can post this evening. Anyway I know you guys want flight report.......... First I just want to say that the weight is not what I had wanted to see....29 lbs. off of a digital fish scale, which was always pretty accurate when I hang a 5 & 10 lb weights from it. Second I have never had a plane that weighed 29 lbs or tuned exhaust. Weather was about 78 degress with 10-15 mph from the north, down the runway. The thing is Big as it is Awesome![sm=thumbup.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=tongue_smile.gif]...and all of that stuff! Ground handling was very good. even on the ground, bigger is bettter. CG was is dead on. roll out was uneventful. Aileron trim was spot on, but the elevator trim was the only thing I had to adjust. The elevators are carrying a tad of up, about 5 clicks, typical in the 88" Yak. 1st Flight was uneventful, but the engine was a little rich and slow to spool up, but the power was there. After a couple of trim passes I tried some point rolls, on low rates (about IMAC rates). Elevators and Rudder was very sensitive for IMAC stuff. none the less, all control surfaces feed back positively and with authority. I will have to add more expo over the 40% I have dialed in to tame it down. Breaks and snaps was very good. High speed knife edge passes are very nuetral with a slight push to the wheels. I will mix in 3% for starters on the rudder to elevator mix. No mix to ailerons are needed. I have flown a couple of 40% planes before, and this Yak felt like a 40%. It can fly very slow and majestic. 3D rates are set 75-80% with throws to the bevels. Elevators 50 degrees, Rudder to max, Ail 45 deg. Waterfalls are sick, literally in its own space. Harriers, rollers, inverted harriers.............rock solid. Hovering is very lock-on. 2nd Flight I leaned out the top end a little and throttle response was much crisper. Rolling harriers can be slowed to a crawl. Feeling a little more confident with the engine, I went ahead and brought her in for a low level hover. Man she looked good. Hover locked and ready to Rock! Torque rolls were almost with no inputs, considering the wind pushed it down the runway a little. From a dead hover, yes she will rocket up to the heavens. With the combination of the DA100 / ES Composite pipes / Vess 28B, I really got more than I had expected. Power was exceptional, but peaky at the top of the power band spinning 6900-7000 rpms. All the power was in the top 25% of the throw. I will dial some throttle curve. By the way, all of the mixing I am doing is on my JR X9303 2.4g Transmitter, and programming is cake! Now you ask me if a 29 lb 100cc 110" Yak 54 will 3D? Heck Yeah![:D] The Flyin Hawaiian is very Happy! Video coming tonight or tomorrow.
