I have a 2700 nimh at 4.8v on my DA100 (qq 102 yak), my flight times are 9-10 minutes and i estimate that after 6 flights i have about 1000Mah in reserve (checked on a cycler), which makes about 300Mah per flight. Hope that helps?

How is the performance on the QQ with the DA 100 ? Are you running stock pipes ?

Hi Josey,
SOrry for the long delay in getting back to you, been abit busy! I'm running std mufflers and 28 x 10 Mejzlik on 50:1 synthetic, pull out of hover is strong if not exceptional, i like it as it is, but a tad more power would be nice.

Hey all, been trying my hand at IMAC practice, [:@] man its harder than you think. Got the throttle and plane all trimmed out and it is a 3D MONSTER. Now, I am toning things down and maybe switching to 29-10 or 28-10 Mej. prop, with an 5" black anodized True Turn Spinner. That should add enough nose weight for good balance for IMAC. Here are some pics from the field today.

Looks Good.......[sm=thumbs_up.gif] the only thing wrong that I see with the pix is that there's not a Vess on the electric.........[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Josey Wales -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/7/2008 1:27:38 AM)

Rennie--can you get a measurement from the end of the rudder to the gear when you get a chance ?

Thanks

Purple Bird -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/7/2008 2:50:42 AM)

Rennie,

Thanks for putting the effort into doing this! I'm sure it will help sales for Extreme Flight!

Now I just need to figure out if I can fit that into a Nissan Xterra!

Josey Wales -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/7/2008 3:10:11 AM)

How's the 87" Brad ?

Chris told me it is 104" long -- from the tip of the spinner to end of the rudder. This thing will just fit into my Explorer -- the tail wheel will sit on the console between the front seats and the spinner will just clear the hatch in the back.

I recently heard from Chris and these are still on track for the end of this month.

torqmeister -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/7/2008 2:23:14 PM)

Rennie, thanks for the great pics, And all the work you have done on this thread. I can't wait to get mine soon.

Purple Bird -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/7/2008 3:17:58 PM)

Joe,

The 87 is great but it's been too damn cold to get it in the air. It flies as well if not better than the QQ 85. Of course with all of the new planes out...it sounds like I'm referring to antiques!

I'm still trying to get my DA-50 sold...it's almost out the door and then I plan to finish my yellow and black 88 with a Brillelli 366. Hope to use the 88' to get started in IMAC and fly your old 87 until it literally explodes from balls to the wall 3D! The 107 looks appealing though cause it's so damn BIG!!!! Are you planning on using a "temporary" 100cc engine until Scott hooks you up with a prototype?

I need to go back to flying a Nexstar so I'm tempted NOT to buy new planes!

-Brad

***ONE LAST THING-Shipping was a good chunk of change on the 88' but I understand you get what you pay for and my 88 came without a scratch. Does anyone have an idea on the shipping for the 107? The boxes for the plane must be HUGE!

Well--not sure yet. I got a GREAT deal on a new DA100/mufflers from a local guy. Its NIB so I picked it up figuring I could sell it if I had to. Hopefully Scott with have the 120 done by Feb. Thats the motor I really want to use but he's having some minor holdups getting some vital parts made. By the time the plane gets here and I start putting it together, Im hoping it will be done! The B60 is awesome so I bet the twin will be even better!

Shipping IS a killer. I may get the 110" delivered to where I work. Chris said that its a LOT cheaper to get it delivered to a commercial address.

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/7/2008 6:58:41 PM)

Joe,

If you have a DA 100, I really think you should use it. I know Scott and his line of engines. Scott is a good dude, and I will admit that the 60cc is a good motor as well. But the DA 100 has proven to be an awesome reliable motor (I've had 3 of them) and never an issue. Always reliable and great power, and great customer service. With tuned pipes, the 110" Yak will be a great flyer. If you go with a new unproven motor, you are risking it all![:@]

If you want more cc's, 3W makes a 120cc twin I believe.

Just my thoughts.

Oh, I will get that measurement for you. If by chance I do not, please remind me.

Josey Wales -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/7/2008 9:42:16 PM)

Thanks Rennie!

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/8/2008 4:06:36 AM)

Joe

First I want to correct an earlier statement. The fuselage is 102.5" long!

From tip of rudder to landing gear plate is 72" long

From tip of rudder to center of wheels is 80" long.

Hope that helps.

That's what I love about Yaks, no spinner no pants, and they still look cool.

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/10/2008 12:09:08 AM)

Hey all,

The Extreme Flight 110" Yak 54 will be available in the yellow/black, red/white/black silver, and original blue/white/red/yellow.

Got some goodies today. 5" TT Spinner and some Props. A nice Mehjlike Carbon Fiber 28-10, and a really nice VESS 29B from Robert. This Vess Prop is not available yet and I am looking forward to doing some testing and research (I will huck the %$@#@! out of it) and see if I can IMAC with it.[sm=thumbup.gif]

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build! (1/10/2008 4:39:00 AM)

Here is a video I threw together just so I can plug FX3D in the ending credits. Footage includes the 110" & 88" Extreme Flight Yak 54. Also in the video is the Hawaiian Yak Dance (with clothes on) in the middle of the runway! My wife shot most of the footage.

Chris sent me a Pilot X and dash panel, which is available from Extreme Flight RC. The pilot and dash panel is required in the IMAC Class Sportsman Class, its a 1 point deduction if you don't. The pilot bust and Dash panel really tops out this beautiful machine.

Yeah it does!! Does Chris have any of those for the 88"? The Dash panel that is..

Frank

That pilot looks awesome. Nice Hitec stickers. Can you use that light weight stuff for the bottom of the canopy that Chris supplied in my new 88" Extra? That would look even cleaner.
