Hey all! Just wanted to say that my 1st IMAC event at Port St. Lucie was fantastic, in spite of the windy weather. Saturdays first two rounds ran smoothly, thanks to Peter Jackson, Don Hamilton, and their support team. Made some new friends and got to reunite with some old ones. Unfortunately my scores was less than stellar , Sportsman Class- 17th out of 18 , which means there is room for improvement! Crosswinds was a real challenge, and learned alot about flying straight lines in them. Sunday was called due to the incoming bad weather. All in all, a very good time! I flew the 110" extreme Flight RC Yak 54 in the Sportsman Class this weekend. Saturday had crosswinds from the south, 15- 20 mph and thought I was going to blown all over the place. With 2-1/2 weeks of practice under my belt, I learned that was not enough. But for my first IMAC I learned a lot, had a great time, now the work begins. The 110" Yak tracked very well in the sky with little rudder correction to keep straight lines level across the box. Verticel and up and down lines was very nice with plane crabbing in the wind but maintaining a staight line. My problem is that the plane would not stall spin correctly and I zero'd that manuerver everytime. This means I have move CG forward, in spite of the plane hold the 45 degree inverted line very well. The plane is flying pretty smooth and straight. I know that it is only going to get better from here. Even though the 110" Yak is set up for IMAC, with a flip of a switch, it is still 3D Capable! [:D] Now I am going to experiment with CG again, and practice, practice, practice! Next is AMPS Aerobatic Challenge, in Miami February 9th and 10th. Even though the 110" Yak is set up for IMAC, with a flip of the switch its still a 3D hooligan. Here is a pic of the 110" Yak at the contest.
