Hey All!

I hooked up with the MAN, Chris H. this morning and picked up the 110" Yak 54 ! Before I get started I just want to say is, that the reason I had to meet Chris, is that the 110" Yak did not come ready for shipping, so we agreed to meet half way from FLA and GA. Now after inspecting the plane, its perfedtion was flawed by shipping damage just being in a big freight container. The fuse was compressed a little so the inside sheeting of the wing pocket had slight damage, nothing major and an easy fix. Now, had it been ready for shipping like the 88" Yaks and Extras, There probably would have not been any damage because of box compression to the fusealage. Extreme Flight takes extra step to protect their products with ply-wood skeleton and double boxing.

Also to my surprise, I picked up a 50cc Blue and Yellow Extra 300 , it arrived in perfect condition, ply-wood skeleton and all. In additon i picked up the new electric plane that has raised the bar, the 58" Extra 300. I will post pics of the 50cc Extra on the other EF thread.

Anyway on with the 110" Yak 54. I un-packed and inspected everything. The Carbon Fiber LG is awesome!. Airfoiled and strong!. All I can say is that the 110" is built just like the 88", but BIGGER! I put he 88" cowling side by side with the 110" for comparison. Also see the difference in the wing next to the QQ 102" Yak wing. OH YEAH!

Chris Hinson will be building the other 110" Yak 54 and he will be installing the DA 85 w/ tuned pipe. That should be an interesting combination! He will be chiming in on this thread when he starts his build.

Here I am just checking the length of the tuned pipe tunnel w/ the ES Composite tuned pipes. Looks like there is plenty of room!

Looks like I will have to trade my Highlander in... I was lucky to fit the 88" in. I know this is premature, could you get a length from end of cowl to end of rudder? This would be the deciding factor for me. I am on the list for the Extra but if I can shoe horn this thing in I am going for it. Thanks and it looks like you are off to a good start.

Rennie,

Can you measure the gear and tell me the tread width? Also -- will the spats add any width?

TIA!

Man this plane makes me want to put a forsale sign on my faithful Panzl. Rennie that plane looks awesome. If I can swing one I hope to get it in the original EF colors. I think the retro look is awesome. I have already put my 87" Yak up forsale in preperation for the arrival of the Extra. Looks like I may have to clean more of the hanger out to make room for some EF planes.

Chris just keeps stepping up to the plate and knocking them out of the park. I would hate to be in his shoes here at Christmas time with some many great planes coming out. He is going to be one very busy man.
