The kit is probably a battle axe, not a battle floyd. Here's a link to the website
http://www.rccombat.com/sections/manufacturers/manufacturers.htm
The 3 long sticks which are bamboo skewers are inserted into the flutes of the tailfeathers for reinforcement (should be made of coroplast). 1 for the rudder and 2 for the stab.
Hope this helps!

nmldr,
Its a Battle Floyd for sure..
My friend bought two kits from someone for 20 bucks.
They started building and didn't finish.
MY first impression was the sticks were for inserting into the Coroplast.
But I wasn't sure were they went.
This is my first attempt on a form wing and coroplast.
But thanks to RCU ,I'll get it done right..
Thanks

Radcom, here is a more direct link: http://www.TreneffRC.com Looking at the box/kit/instructions, you would know if it's a Battle Axe. Everything would say "Battle Axe". Like you said, it must be a floyd.

Yes, put the two in the stab in from the outside. Put one stick in the coroplast flute immediately in front of the elevator hinge line, and the other stick in the flute in front of that one, from the other side. (If the hinge isn't cut already, you'll need to cut out one face of one flute, which allows the coro to bend. About 1" from the TE should be close.)

those are bamboo skewers and you can get some at about any grocery store or walmart or dollar stores. good for stiffening coro and repairs for any wood planes.

If you have three, you want one in front of the elevator hinge line, and one behind the hinge, it helps keep the elevator and stab from flexing. Glue them into the coro with a bit of Polyurathane glue, and put something heavy on them on a flat surface so the stab comes out striaght and flat.

The third one you can just slip inside the vertical stab to keep it from flexing too much.

Also, another floyd tip, make the vertical stab bigger than what you think you might want. It will help with the stability and help you turn tighter. (a bigger vertical stab keeps the plane going straight at high AOA, which does make the stall occur a little later).
